Hey Guys

Long time reader and my first post on this site. I just finished detailing my truck, wash, clay, and polished with M205. I thought instead wax I would try the Meguairs #21 synthetic sealant. Truck came out great but cleaning the foam pad is a nightmare. I have used pad cleaner, Dawn soap and it seems like the synthetic base does not respond well with water. Is this normal, is there a way to clean pad or is now contaminated for anything but #21 to be used with this pad. I am sure a lot of you have used the #21 just curious if you have had this issue. Is there another product as good without the issues.

Thks

All sealant pads have the same promblem when it comes to cleaning them.

Although it involves a different brand
of Sealant...IMO: The below post is
very relative to your "issue".

(An "issue", which you'll eventually find
out, is actually a really good issue to have.)

The fact that you can't remove it
from the pad is a testament to just
how robust this formula is.
:dblthumb2:

Clean it the best you can,
and then dedicate that pad
to that particular product.

I don't worry so much about cross contamination with my LSP pads. I worry a lot more about a pad being dirty (foreign particulate matter).

If I clean a pad well after applying M21, I wouldn't hesitate to use the same pad for Collinite 845 or Power Lock three months later (keeping in mind that I'm working on daily drivers and not $80k Mercedes).
