Hi,
I have been working on my wife's 2004 Chev. Tahoe. I have been using M105 with a Meguiar's burgundy 2.0 pad on a rotary at about 1600 rpms. The compound is drying almost immediately. It is windy about 20 mph. I think my problem is the wind because everything I use is drying almost immediately...M80, M09, rotary or DA does not matter the method it is applied. We normally have alot of humidity in my area, but today is a nice day in the upper 60's low humidity. I have tried shrinking my work area down to about 1'x1', lowering speed on the rotary to 1200rpms nothing helps.

Thanks,
Chris

105 does not like any type of air blowing over it, even the air from the buffer dries it up, especially version one.

Try spraying a little M34 Final Inspection onto the surface or onto your pad.

This is a pretty common complaint about this product so if history is any indicator it could be they will look into this issue and perhaps reformulate.

Thanks, I am sort of new to compounding and polishing. Meguiars Quick Detailer was definitely my friend today. I had to "prime" the pad every 1'x1' section. I had some hologramming from the 105 I guess do to the near immediate dry buff. When I could not get M80 to finish LSP ready on a 3m black polishing pad at 1400rpms, my gut instinct was the wind is the culprit. The M80 has always finished well on the tahoe's paint with that combination. So I tried the DA with a Meguiars Polishing pad 2.0 with M80, still no work time. It's good to know just because it is a pretty day, does not mean it is a good day for paint correction!

Thanks,
Chris

M80 doesn't usually finish out swirl free using only a rotary buffer on clear coats, I like M80 personally for some projects but not to finish with using a rotary buffer.

Might look into a alternative product and give it a try.

Thanks, I will have to get some M34 for future use. I appreciate all the replies. I have been lurking AG forum for a couple years but never posted.

Thanks,
Chris
