Meguiars APC+ or Optimum Power Clean?

Don't use APC on carpets.....any apc. It's not made for that and can cause the carpets to get dirty faster because it needs to be thoroughly and completely rinsed out.

Use a dedicated product designed specifically for carpets and fabrics.

I do not use Optimum's Power Clean for carpets. I use either hot steam vapor alone and/or Folex in conjunction with my steam vapor cleaner and extractor.

For specific cleaning such as vomit, blood, urine, pet feces, spoiled food and milk I use specialized cleaners made for those instances.

My reasoning is that there are specific products for specific chores within detailing. You can wash your hair with dish soap but using a shampoo designed to clean hair would be best and so it is with all purpose cleaners. They can be used for carpets and fabrics but there are better choices out there.

I also use ProChem products. They make a great selection of cleaners and pre-spotters for carpets and fabrics.

Thanks for the reply Anthony. Your reasoning makes sense, but I just can't justify the need for so many products myself. I've always been happy with Megs APC and APC+ and have never seen any side effects from their use.

I do add Folex to my extractor unit though.
