Aloha!

I just ran out of Megs D156. Lasted me 4 months. I've been mainly using this as a final wipe down for my clients and for my "Maintenance" details. I love this stuff but I'm always searching for other products that I can use. Any suggestions?

P.S. $49.99 for 2 gallons and a Xpress spray bottle of d156 on AG is a good deal!

If you want to buy over the counter, Megs Ultimate Quik Wax is basically the same thing. ;)

As Bob stated, #34 is a great product for final wipe, dusting down etc. and adds a bit of shine for weekend car shows and such. Although it has literally zero longevity to it.

DG aquawax is supposed to be really good like 156....granted it costs about $10 more a gallon, I hear nothing but good about it....I may try a little bottle my next order but I really like 156 all around its great

You can't beat D156..I've spent alot of $$ trying. The protection is underrated. The gloss, shine, and ease of use in any temp even direct sun is unsurpassed

Ever consider waterless wash? I use Ultima Waterless Wash Plus Concentrate for my weekly maintenance details. Wash and Wax/shine in one step. Leaves incredibly hydrophobic surface with excellent gloss. Less time/steps= more $$.

Feel the same way hard to beat results impossible to beat the value. Also find it to be the most streak free quick wax,wax as you dry for windows.

Its pretty hard to beat for what youre using it for. If your`e not looking for super longevity, I agree with the suggestion of Ultima. Its an amazing final wipe down agent. IIRC, it has a longevity of at least 4 to 5 days. Don`t quote me on that figure.

I love D156 and I always have a gallon on hand for maintenance details. Lately though I've been very impressed with Prima wax as you dry on my personal vehicle that I bought a whole gallon as well. Expensive yes, but what a great shine!

Concur with all of the above. As much as I LOVE the "hi-tech" part of the hobby, the coatings and sealants and esoteric waxes, there is simply NO denying that D156 is a superb product and an incredible value.

A co-worker told me that he started buying Plexus for $50 a can a few years ago for his bike, and began using it "all the time" on his leased C-class Benzes. He urged me to show him "anything that comes close" to what Plexus can do. I loaned him a spray bottle of D156 and a semi-decent MF and said to just spritz it all over as he dries off his car after a wash. He got back to me and said, "OMG this s**t is incredible! I bet it costs a FORTUNE!" When I told him that the few ounces he used cost maybe 50 cents he simply couldn't believe it.

What about Nanoskin nano shock? I heard good things about it. I have yet to try it but am curious how it would match up against d156. I also just ran out of my d156 but wouldn't mind finding something with a little more durability.

Its funny that no matter how much we like something (d156) we are always looking for something better.

d115 beads for at least 3 weeks for me. Havent gone longer than that to really test longevity cause I usually wash and use d156 as a dying aid.

Pretty well the same here. I use it religiously after every wash on my cars without a formal wax - the beading is incredible. I'm just starting to do formal waxings of the cars in preparation for the winter rains - I will even follow up those waxings with a shot of D156 to finish them off.

OK, went to the AG store and did not see any D156, is there another name? Or how about a picture? TIA

Just search D156. Meguiars Synthetic X-press Spray Wax.

Not sure what kind of results you'll get but yea sure why not.

Thanks. I have a bottle of Mother's Liquid Synthetic wax, can that be diluted and used the same as D156 ?
Hmmm.... I would say no, but I think it would be interesting to try. If that's the same sample I got then I'd say no because that has to haze. Spray waxes are very different.
