Tried HCD today, just for fun. This was the most hydrophobic spray detailer I've ever used, eclipsing Wet Coat. I don't have the experience many of you do with full blown coatings, so to me this was impressive.

Its a fantastic product for sure, a very nice topper/maintenance product for full blown coatings. Cut it 50/50 with Sonax BSD for even more hydrophobic magic...

I was surprised how well it repelled and beaded water for a detailer at the $17 price point. BSD is the other one I was going to try. Opted for the HCD for now due to availability.

This was the hybrid ceramic detailer and not the HC wax? Impressive.

Used it on Coated cars so just thought the great beading was the coating.

Yeah just the detailer (green bottle). A friend of mine who uses M799 Bead Booster recommended it. Was not expecting the water repellency to be this good. It was applied to bare paint, no sealant/coating.

•Without going through some protracted
explanation…unsurprisingly, I’m a bigly
fan of Meguiar’s products* (See below)
-(I’m sure that HCD won’t be an exception.)

Here…
I’d rather let the below picture depict
the breadth of my Meguiar’s fandomship:

I've found the majority of Meguiars products to perform well initially and then fall off. I think Mother's makes a slightly better line of products.

It's been a long time since I used Mother's products. I take durability claims with a grain of salt. So many variables at play. And honestly, durability means less to me now than it once did. I wash my cars so often, it doesn't matter. If the product can give me 1-3 months, have great hydrophobics and is easy to use, then I'm happy with it.

The easy to use spray waxes/sealants/Sio2 products are my go to for these reasons.

Just poured....washed yesterday and topped up with HCD. Initial beading is so impressive with this OTC product.

This is my current go to and I've really enjoyed it. I recently picked up the new Megs Paint Coating and need to polish up and apply to the wife's ride.

Megs HCW seems much more popular than Bead Booster. I'm curious how the full strength Bead Booster performs being HCD is so good.

Makes perfect sense, since HCW is an OTC consumer product and Bead Booster is sold in gallons in their professional line.

M799 (BeadBooster) seems like it would be great as a drying aid ifcused undiluted as using things as drying aid naturally dilutes...

The beading is insane with HCD and it's a detailer. Impressive.
