HELLO,

Alot of the more expensive Leather Cleaners and Conditioners talk about a PH level, normally of 7, that they're products contain to match the Leather. Meguiars doesn't indicate this with it's Leather conditioner/cleaner.

Is this, the PH level, very important, and if it is, will the Meguiars brand work as well as the others?

I cannot comment about the meguirs but the pH is of some level of importance. With a high pH, as with some of the APC products people use, you elevate the potential for leaving leather (and fabrics in general) at that raised pH which can lead to rot in the long terms as well as compromising colour fastness (so you can get fading). That is the text book answer but a lot also depends on the leather and with what it is finished. If your leather is sealed up like a submarine, totally water proof and impermeable, then short of actually stripping the sealing layer, nothing is going to be getting to the leather itself and you have little to worry about. Of course, if that is the case, your conditioner is doing nothing more than enhancing the appearance of the sealant and is doing nothing for the actual leather - but that is a totally different discussion!

Over on Meguiar's web site, they have all the MSDS papers available, the PH will be on them.

It takes a bit of drilling to find them, but they are there.
