So.. based upon reviews and a few members recomendations , got many stuff ,
including a meguiars 5" microfiber kit
Was really exited to get to work with them
as my new car was really trashed.
So , after a few playarrounds with the 3" mini griots
and the HT lc pads that worked awesome with other polishes the day for buffing out my car arrived
Watched all your videos mike using this pads , thought i had it pretty covered.
Started by using a hydrotech cyan pad with no issues
( so far more on that on another thread ) , then switched to the meguiars , same BP
Noticed the velcro of the pad was weird
like way too soft but did not take it as something important
( at that time )
until.......
while buffing out started noticing the pads just dont stay centered for long , maybe a few passes , then they start to sound weird and grabby.
i stoped , inspected the issue and found out... pads are not straight at all!!!
pads have a weird pattern where some are bended in many ways
Also noticed that i could almost blow the pad out of the bp , with just pushing with 1 finger up the pad will de-attach
These are new opened from the box kit pads

Its hard to show it in pictures with a crappy phone camera , but the pads tend to go to one side higher than the other

Then trying another one the issue got more and more aparent and frustrating , after a few tries finally realized the pad was not sticking to the BP correctly on the center , if u pushed on the center u then'll hear the pad poping back out ( while the rest of the pad still remained on the bp)
So ... giving what i had , i keep on buffing the car and really getting a hard time removing linear scratches or RIDS
Until the pad started going so far away to 1 side that leaved the bp on the air and that was way too risky to use. So switched back to the HT foam pads.
Cutting or polising pads have the same issue.
Later..... thought of trying out the original BP that comes with the Griot's to find... they stick way better than with the BP supplied with the meguiars brand BP..
Other pads do to, the stick way better and firm
Although the same thing happens with the center , it will pop back up , this things have a logo on the back so maybe thats why they dont stick , or is this and the pads not being straight is not an issue at all? they just need to stick firmly on the sides and your good to go?
Thoughts?
