Meguiars New Polisher........

more competition for udm and pc...that's a good thing

Looks identical to the UDM but with a different handle....

I think this is good for the UDM since there were critics about it as unproven. If anyone is concerned about long term support (reliability, warranty), this should alleviate the concerns since M's will likely continue their lifetime warranty. I am not saying it will be as reliable as a PC or has a proven track record, etc but at least the support will be there and problems are likely to be fixed.

The Festool or Flex looks more appealing and another PC / UDM ... which is what Meg's looks like.

Is this thing mp3 or is it a joke of sorts? I have seen many posts about the headphone jack and itunes compatable.

I think the previous "Meguiars" brand orbital was a PC with their badging. The new one is likely a UDM with Meguiars badging. I could almost guarantee it.;)

:iagree:exactly what I was thinking.

I believe the UDM is privately owned. I also believe that the Megs G110 will be the "new" version of the PC.

I bought the Meguiars unit quite a few years ago, more recently I got a PC and yes, they are the exact same machine other then the Meguiars label put on it where the Porter Cable lablel would be. Oh yes, the Megs unit came with the 5oz counter weight while the PC had the 6oz.

It may be, but if Meguiars came to you and wanted to buy 20,000 UDM's you'd probably choose to sell, right?:)

You better believe it!!!

I was just stating what I THINK is going on. You know this detailing business.......it's as top secret as Area 51!

It may be simular to the UMD as far as the power unit..but I bet Meg's did a lot more research and testing on it and will be delivered with no problems as far as counter weight and switch problems...

or it could be a totally different machine but looks are similar to the UMD....I thought I read that Meg's has been working on this machine for 18 months on the Meg's forums....that's a lot longer than the UMD was being tested....

The PC 7424 came with a 5 oz counter weight and the PC7667 comes with the 6 oz counter weight. Meguiar's didn't make their first machine so I doubt this one is made by them either. If it'd just another form of the UDM then they can keep it ...

Looks like Griot's offering to me.

Griots is a Makita DA Sander. You can even see the collector for the dust bag on the Griots model. Look underneath it! It's also not as powerful as the PC so I doubt Megs would want to use it. I bet it was the handle that made you think it though. I love that handle!
