Meguiars polishing compound abrasiveness?

Well, this is pak...

Yeah, i'm from lahore too. I plan to work on a clearcoated, midnight blue colored car with heavy swirls.....it may be impossible by hand but i'll give it a shot as soon as i get a clay kit.

First timer? Ya clay before compound. Meguiars is good n cheap, at least here. I heard mothers clay kit is cheaper than megs in pak.
Do clay, compound n polish panel by panel or tape off a little portion of a less prominent area like trunk n do a test spot.

in our area mothers clay kit is the best option, it is easily available and is cheap. much milder than the crappy turtle clay that comes with shampoo water as lubricant

btw i suggest that you get the meguiars DA power system, then you can buff your car with a drill machine, i intend to buy the same as it is affordable and i dont mind the extra time it takes since i won't be working professionally

I haven't tried mothers clay but tried megs n its good. To be honest turtle products r all junk. Apart from turtle black box(which I hvnt tried) all of their products r junk. Turtle believes in quantity rather than quality.
As for as DA u mentioned it's better to get a Chinese random orbital (DA type) than spending so much on these drill mount on.
I would suggest a polishing pal with different pads for compound, polish n clay. It would be less painstaking.

i will start saving up and we can go to get me a DA from Brandeth road when you come back :), as far as turtle is concerned i feel that using their waxes somehow my paint got ruined, it never feels the same (apart from areas that i compounded). i used their ice clay and it would stick to my paint and pull it when i moved the clay bar and their dealers blame me for bad technique, i used mothers clay and had no such issue, i have clayed six times till now, a paint shop is near my brother's workplace so the cars often have overspray. till date i have used turtle hyper polymer glaze, ice clay, refine and shine clay, ice interior detailer, presoak and turtle hard shell wax, and all of these made me regret

i used their liquid clay and it seemed to DISSOLVE my single stage paint

Yup, first time. Mothers clay kit is cheaper but they still rip you off :(. Thanks for the advice.

Which paint did you use the turtle waxes on? I'm assuming you got original stuff so how did it 'ruin' the paint.

You clayed six times from one clay kit? How effective was it in cleaning and removing oxidation?

It dissolved your red margalla's paint but it didn't do nothing to my white single stage paint......literally nothing. I rubbed and rubbed but that product is only good for taking off old wax layers and gives a thorough clean. And white s.s is pretty hard.
