Meguiar's Soap by the Gallon. Hyper Wash vs Shampoo Plus, or both?

Dear friends,

Just recently I got my Hyper Wash gallon and must admit it's now my go to soap when starting full details.

I know I can dilute it more to get a more 'gentle' solution from it, but I'm considering ordering Shampoo Plus gallon for the 'maintenance' work.

Would you think I really need Shampoo Plus or should I stick with hyper wash in lower concentrations?

What are your general thoughts about shampoo plus? Is it a product worth to have?

I've started doing mainly full details, but customers are coming back a lot for maintenance washes. I need to offer them the best, and count on your comments to decide which product would better suit.

Thanks for any comment (you can also talk about Hyper Wash and give some tips on usage as well).

I appreciate any help.

Kind Regards.

Shampoo Plus can be used thick or thin. Yesterday I put an over loaded dilution in my foam cannon and had the thickest stickiest foam ever.

Also, I love Duragloss 901 (it's 902 in the gallon size) for a nice shine afterwards.

End of the day you'll need to figure out what works best, and is the most cost effective for DAILY driven vehicles. No need to buy into the hype of a "boutique shampoo" when a regular old fashion car washing soap can get the job done.

Even though it doesn't sound like much, when you spend an extra 50¢ per chemical that you put into a maintenance wash, that eats into your profit.

Hmm, thank you for answers.

I've tried to add Duragloss 902 to my order that is being processed. I hope AG takes enough care for me to add it and ship as soon as possible.

Thank you very much for taking your time helping me,

Let's see how I like this soap.

(I'm worried about AG not being able to send it for me this time, but please, let's 'pray for detailing gods' to help me out).

Kind Regards.

Duragloss is a good shampoo but two things made me not repurchase:

1) The cherry scent. I didn't like it and frankly there are plenty of other scents out there for me to choose from

2) And the more important of the two, the dilution ratio is 1 ounce to 1 gallon. For the price, I have found quite a few other shampoos that produce just as good of a wash with better dilutions, and thus better price per wash. If I were you I would make a spread sheet that takes into account not only price, but also dilution ratio to help guide you. From there, when you find the ones that are best for your desired price range, then make sure to ask the forum for assistance in choosing.

Just wanted to point this out before you bought it. If you're okay with both those, go ahead and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Thanks for pointing that out.

Do you have another suggestion? AG store is still sleeping, so I can shoot an email suggesting another soap by the gallon until tomorrow morning.

Thank you in advance,

Kind Regards.

To be honest, probably not... I have different wants (at least I think) than you. I like trying boutique washes and don't really look at the overall price that much. I can do this since I'm not detailing professionally and don't need to look at the bottom line as much.

That being said, I think both Optimum and Ultima have good washes. Optimum says one ounce per gallon but they say that 1/2 ounce per gallon works fine, too, to help stretch the product. I haven't used the Meguiar's car wash that you have asked about. The Duragloss is a good car wash, except for what I've pointed out.

I hate to say it, but a lot of times you just have to try them to see what you like the most. I wish I could add more...

Don't worry my friend, I understand your meanings.

Trust me, a gallon of duragloss I'm ordering at AG costed the same of a small bottle of Meguiar's Ultimate wash and wax in Brazil.

I'm sure I'll be able to wash more cars with the gallon of DG than with a small bottle of meguiars lol

I'll have good profits with it. Also, it'll be good to try something different.

I just feel hyper wash lacks in lubricity, so even being more concentrated, I need to add more product to feel the slickness I want.

I want the most slick car wash for maintenance of my customers.

I'm a huge fan of chemical guys soap, but they are not shipping to Brazil anymore (just to distributors), and AG won't sell CG to my country.

That said, I think I'll stick with DG for this time...

One part of me wants it, and another don't. I'll just get rid of doubt after using it.

Thank you for opinions,

Kind Regards.

Thanks Bob, for either the link and note above!

I haven't seen your post since I was typing while you wrote down.

I'll take a look at that,

Kind Regards.

I used to use 1 oz per gallon with duragloss car wash and quickly learned all you need is 0.5 oz per gallon making it very economical.
Ultima is good but kills my beading and doesn't seem to ever rinse completely off.

Thanks for info. Can you tell a bit about slickness of DG 902?

Kind Regards.

I associated the absence of beading immediately after the wash as something added to water spots and never saw an issue when rinsing. I did not notice it as permanent. It does seem to leave something behind..like a glow.

Are you saying it added water spots or prevented them?

Aw, received a message from AG today,

They haven't been able to insert the DG902 gallon, I must admit I was liking the idea to have it.

So that may be in my next order, but not for now.

I have a tricky question, let's see if you can help me out.

Do you know the brand Malco? Anyone can tell me the relationship between duragloss and malco products?

They look very similar, the shampoo of malco has a berry scent, malco even have an 'Aqua Wax'... are they partner brands?

Thanks for any info.

Kind Regards.

Malco is an Ohio, USA based company...
Been around for years.
I've used many of their products---good & bad.

Don't know of any direct or personal relationship
between them and DuraGloss.
But since car-care chemicals are just another commodity
that's shared World-wide...Who knows for sure?

Oi Tato, novamente eu aqui...kkkk

Hi Tato, here again i ... kkkk

I am also looking for a great shampoo for maintenance of my cars, and I want a shampoo without wax and potentiators glows want a neutral.

So far I'm using the new version of Auto Finesse Lather and yet it was the best I've used, 30ml for 20lts. The sleeve slides with breeze and the final rinse is perfect.

Asked Dodo Juice Born To Mild to test and I'll test some others to choose the right shampoo for maintenance.

I noticed that you like the Chemical Guys Wash and Gloss and I have an almost full gallon here, and would be happy to contribute a few liters for you, what do you think?

hugs
