Meguiars Ultimate compound.

I have about 20oz each of 105 and 205 and am still new to compounding/polishing....Should I just go out and buy some UC and UP and ditch the 105/205?

P.s. I'll be using a gg6 with the thin Meg's pads

M205 is in my opinion better than UP. It's a more versatile product.

I no longer use M105 as I have gone to M101 or D300. UC is no slouch.

ok well tthat's good to hear....I'll prolly try UC with 205 follow up then....that'll save me from wasting money on UP, even though it's not really that expensive.... I have a buddy I can donate the 105 to also

I'm also a HUGE fan of Meg's UC, its always done me right and will always have it in my collection:dblthumb2:

Once I get my GG6 I'll have to give it a shot. My car is black so I find it hard to believe that UC will be able to finish without marring, but hey, there isn't really any harm in trying. I have the UC and UP already so I can always polish out after if I don't like the results

I haven't used UC on black, but I have used it on very soft dark blue and dark maroon paint. I've never noticed any micro-marring. In both cases I could have stopped with the UC, but went on with the UP and really increased the shine.

I've found that duo to work great on Toyota, Subaru, and Mazda's.

That's good to hear. I'll be working on my black 2015 Mazda 3. Since I'm a bit OCD I'll probably end up doing both UC and UP haha.

I love Meguiar's Ultimate products! I think they're under-rated and a lot of people ding them for being consumer products. Who cares?! The Ultimate Compound/Polish are both derived from their professional line counterparts, the M105/M205. The product is cheap and readily available. Not only that but the products flat out outperforms!!!

Here's a quick detail I did and I can't believe how much restoration was achieved with Ultimate Compound:

I'm not sure what m86 is. Also, most of these products that I have are not available here and i've purchased almost everything I have from AGO over the past year.

Any further purchase will happen after the new year unfortunately as getting things shipped here cost more than what I shop for in shipping charges.

Edit: Just looked at m86 and I must add that I am a hobbyist so purchasing high volume liquids is out of question (+ shipping.....)

Another option is Ultimate Polish on a microfiber polishing pad. I use the Yellow Rupes mf pad on the pc. I was very surprised at how much it cleaned things up!

oh Wow rupes 21 with MF pad?

I tried with GG with hydro blue pad and got much marrying on black bmw

I think it would been LSP ready if i used soft pad though :p

Yup. The two last section passes were very light pressure, just the machines weight.

For 99% of DD, i believe this is the perfect one step. On colors other than black. How many client would really notice a difference if you also used polish? Topped with a sealer like ULW, and you have a winning combo IMO.
