Meguiars Ultimate on top of Jetseal Conundrum

I have been searching all over the web and can't find any information as to whether or not I can apply Meguiars ultimate paste wax on top of Jetseal. I've already applied the JetSeal and was looking to top it with the Ultimate Paste Wax. Any information is appreciated.
 
Sure, why wouldn't you be able to do that? Just don't expect the car to repel hail or anything after.
 
Maybe golf balls? I've never used Jetseal before and am new to this forum of master detailing and chemistry of products. There is confusion due to the Jetseal being a sealant and the Meguiars Ultimate being either a wax or possibly a sealant. I was told that the Meguiars Ultimate Paste wax doesn't have any cleaners in it so it might be ok to use and thought to get some more information from the experts.
 
It won't hurt the car, but it won't help it either. IMHO it's a waste of time - but it is your time to spend as you see fit. It just seems to make sense to me to use one or the other.
 
The reason behind using the Meguiars Ultimate is due to it stating that it's a wax and my understanding is that putting a wax on top of Jetseal is a good thing. I'm definitely not looking to waste time or product.
 
Ultimate wax is a sealant. You would essentially be topping a sealant with another sealant. The term "wax" is used on the bottle for the average consumer who doesn't know the difference between a wax or a sealant.

Topping a sealant with a wax is optional.
 
I thank you all very much for your input. I am always looking to give my ride more protection and to layer product on product I feel will do just that. Maybe a third coat using the Meguiars Ultimate wax would be another layer of protection like adding a wax.

Jet Seal will far outlast that megs product, if you want to apply a second coat of something apply another coat of jet seal.
 
I've already put on 2 coats of Jetseal and I guess I'll do a third for Ultimate protection. Then, next time I wash my ride I'll use Meguires Ultimate Wax as a regular scheduled maintenance topping. What do you all think?
 
Totally a judgement call on your part.

On the plus side, it would provide a fresh protective element.

As some have stated, it may not be necessary at this time, but it's up to you, ultimately.
 
Stick with layering the Jetseal it will outlast that megs product.

a plan; that's better than how i started here. Good job.
 
Just got a Griot's Garage 6" orbital polisher with a 5" backing plate and some 5 1/2" pads. I took out some light scratches but don't have the time to work on the entire vehicle for swirling. In time I'll look into halogen lights to help see the problem areas better, which will possibly help with technique on curved areas etc.

The manufacturer states that the only reason to add a second application is to assure even coverage...not that it will add another (film)layer.

And:
Since one application is supposed to provide up to 12 months of protection (BTW: that's longer than Ultimate Paste Wax)...
then, and if: subsequent applications did in fact add additional "layers" of protection: the third application of Jetseal should yield up to three years---equal to the ultimate protection you mention above.

•If this analogy would be true;
-There'd be no need for another Sealant-LSP,
such as Ultimate Paste Wax...(at least for three years). :)

•If the above analogy would not be true:
-The previous reasoning would be the same, IMHO.

Which of these two Sealants you want to apply as a "maintenance topping" is ultimately your choice.
But why change horses in the middle of the stream?

I understand the reasoning mentioned and it would be great to put on layers and each layer being a year of protection. If that were the case I'd look into putting 10 layers on and just hose the vehicle off and it would sparkle. :) If it would work I'd do it. With the help of this forum and members, I feel that the layers help with keeping contaminants such as bird bombs etc from getting through to the clear coat. I already have the Meguiars Ultimate Wax and if I can use it without damaging the JetSeal I figured to use it as a less costly maintenance product which would help to keep the JetSeal performance maximized. What do you think?
