Anyone on here ever compare the 2 brands side by side? I've always liked meguires, but I also know that Adam's makes some great products as well. I however have great access to discounted meguires stuff. I'd just like to know which product is the best and longest lasting

For me it boils down to:
Why even search elsewhere...
If I have always liked a product-line; and, in turn, also have access to discounts applicable to that product-line:
Then...IMHO...Such factors shouldn't be easily dismissed.

You mean Meguiar's. You need to do your own testing & research to find which products work best for you.

Experience will teach you that selecting the best products that each brand has to offer will yield you the best results.

On a side note, I saw your going to UTI. Interesting...I graduated from there in 2007.

Thing about Meguiars, WG, etc gives us several choice in polishes and compounds , whereas the smaller companies gives you 1-2 only.
With today's paint one compound just won't do it
But if it works for you then that's fine.
I always said find something that works for you and stick with it.
For me I have many that I stick with being I work on different types of paints and clears.

Like having a 16" chainsaw, sure it will cut but you'll find it much too small to cut larger trees if need be.
I need 3-4 chainsaws because of the differences in "Cut"

Adam's will be more expensive and for the most part, just work and work well. However, you can likely find cheaper and equal alternatives to their products.

Yes! I was using Adams prior to venturing out. Price was the reason why I started looking elsewhere. Not a slam on them since they do have great customer service.

Same here. I still use some of their stuff because it truly is good, but so is other stuff for half the price or cheaper.

I have used Adam's until I started doing this for a living price was a huge factor. Adam's products are not geared towards your full time detailer. Most of their stuff is $50 a gallon no thanks!

Meg's is for the Professional detailer looking to maximize profits. They make good products.

Adam's is a boutique brand for the hobbyist/weekend detailer. They make good products.

Most of my stuff is about 80% Adam's at the moment and I will say they make quality supplies.

I will also bluntly say one car care company does not make the best of everything. To think so is ignorant IMO.

I will also... also say IMO their Microfibers are extremely hard to beat quality wise.

I was going to UTI. Graduated in 2010. I need to update my profile desperately lol

I have mostly interior stuff from Adams. I haven't used their polishes. It just sucks there's so much out there for detailing and it's hard to try em all so that's why I ask. I don't really know what to look for as far as ingredients go to see which does the best protecting and shine. I didn't know if one had a benefit over the other or not

I agree, so then you can go to the source; same quality, same towels...WAY better price.

Thier stuff works fine. I have used every product they carry except some of their new stuff/re-introduced stuff.

I agree with what others said above:

1. Do your own testing and see what you like.
2. They don't have the best of everything.
3. It's ok to branch out and have products from different places.
4. Don't use them if you are looking for the best profits.

5. Be careful on their forums

Their prices are high, I'll pass as well.

Adams doesn't manufacture what they sell. I used their products exclusively when I got into detailing until I did some research. Then I felt like a moron since there are better cheaper options. Meguiars Detailer and Professional Mirror Glaze line are amazing!!

Same here live and learn, I not willing to pay for his kids college.:buffing:

I won't use Adams just because there's such a stupid cult following of it.
That and it's overpriced. There is way better stuff out there or stuff just as good for half the price.

You can buy two gallons of CG'S Mr.Pink car soap to their one gallon of car soap.

Mr. Pink goes for around $30.00 a gallon...
And even at that price-point: That's pretty expensive for car soap, IMHO.

Never looked at it as a cult following, I just used the term homers! I looked at their price for the bucket dolly it was almost double what I paid at AG. They had a extension cord at one time made in USA which I like I purchased the same one from amazon for half the money, yeah I say overpriced.:buffing:
