Our only Ed ( High End Detail) was hurt real bad last night in a freak accident with a cat. No, this is not a joke. I'm being serious. Ed took a kitten in awhile back and has raised it as his cat. Well, the cat got out Wed. afternoon and he spent 2 days looking for it. When he found the cat and got the cat in his hands, the cat went nuts on him.

Ed has several puncture wounds thru his thumb, fingers and deep scratches that took skin off. I haven't seen the wounds but he told me about it over the phone this morning. He is going on vacation for the next 7 days and really needed the money of 4 cars today that he had to reschedule. He's not sure how quick its going to heal, but hes on hydro-codone for pain and some anti-biotics for keeping infection away.

I would really appreciate any prayers ya'll might have for him and that he gets healed up pretty quick. As a detailer, you're business lies in your hands. He's pretty rough off ya'll. Thanks for thinking of him in your thoughts.

Sorry to hear about that.

Cats can be brutal if they choose to be. Those claws hurt like hell.

Here's to a speedy recovery.

Damn that sucks, what made the cat go buck wild if he raised it?

My cat is a lunatic, will hide and pounce out and try to hit you and run lol, but he's de-clawed and de-balled:D

I'm not sure man. Our only idea is that the cat was really scared being out for 2 days and not knowing what was going on. I'm wondering if it was attacked and possibly had rabies, but not sure rabies catches that quick. I know the cat has had all its vaccines, so who knows. Ed didn't go to much into detail on it. I will be talking to him in the morning, so I'll report back with any news on his condition.

He said the cat had bit thru his thumb nail and a couple other fingers and scratched his hands to hell and back.

It sucks, b/c in order for him to work and detail he needs his hands. So we'll see how fast it heals up.

Thanks!

Holly crap! I am sorry to hear that! Hope you get well soon! I learned my lesson at 12 yrs. old picking up a kitten and it also bit through my nail and tore up my hands pretty bad. Lucky for me I wasn't into detailing then. Next time I pick up any cat like that I go straight for the long sleeves and the thick leather gloves.

That's awful. Ed brings so much to this forum. I hope he has a speedy recovery and that he's back on track in no time.

Ive always said, becareful when tangling with a little kitty !! That said, I send my warm wishes to him and know he is miffed because Opti-seal testing was in his immediate future.

Hope that you heal up fast Ed. Amazing how much you miss using your hands when they are hurt. Tough deal.

Just got off the phone with Ed and he is headed to Fla to jump on a cruise ship, he did not kill the cat. I had to check, cat is ok, Ed on the other hand is a little messed up. It's amazing the damage little animals can cause.

Wishing Ed a speedy recovery..Ed needs to keep a close watch for any signs of infection, very close..

Yep, he's on Augmentin this week and penicillin next week as well as hydro-codone for the pain. Here are some pics he sent me.

Damn Ed. I knew you said it was bad but wow. I'm sorry. You will be in my prayers for a fast recovery.

I hope you don't get the "cat scratch fever"!

(Inside joke.)

LOL!

Thankyou everyone for your prayers and concerns. As Chris said my hands were badly hurt, last thursday. With a few phone calls, to some great doctors. My hand are recovering nicely. They are about 85% healed. I can bend my right index finger almost all the way closed, and for my left thumb. I can move it about 30%. We had the cat for a year and a half. It lived outside for about 6 months when we took it in.It weighted only 2.1 pounds. Then 3 months after that we had him fixed and weighted in at 8 pounds. Fast forward to present he weights in at about 15-20 pounds. So at 2 years old and 15-20# he is a very strong cat. He got out last wensday, found him 24 hours later on thursday. He was hiding under the shrubs, and I pulled him out. Everything seemed good. As I picked him up, he turned his head and bite my right index finger about 4 times. And started scratching me. I went into shock, and disbeleaf of him doing this to me. So I felt no pain. Untill he bite through my left thumb, not once but three times.(OH the pain). I told my girlfriend to get the cage to put him in. So she did not know he was doing this to me. Untill she came up and saw all the damage done. I had to let him go, since I couldn't take it any longer. So now he is living somewhere outside, and I don't know where he is. He will be missed. Once again thankyou everyone.

Any pics of your hands now? Crazy, my cat is a lunatic and loves when I play rough with him but its weird that he knows not to bite hard enough to puncture skin whereas some friends have cats that if you tried playing rough, you'd be missing some fingers lol.

I wish Ed and best and hope he has a quick recovery. I have never cared much for cats. They can't really be trusted. I love dogs and most other animals.
