Hi All,
I wanted to start actually participating in this forum since all the information I've found here has been extremely helpful over the years. I signed-up in 2012 and was able to find a wealth of information just by searching. I've taken up detailing again as a serious hobbyist as it's something I can do close to home in my driveway.
Taking advantage of the Black Friday and Christmas Sales, I was able to add a Rupes 75 and Rupes 15 to my Flex 3401. I did pre-order the Rupes 15 mkII and I'm eagerly awaiting shipping. The Rupes 15 mkI will probably be sold once I get the new mkII. In addition, I stocked up on various polishes and pads. The products I've been most excited about are 3D HD Speed, and the Rupes pads and polish combos.
The "fleet" of cars that I work on: Jet Black 2006 BMW 325xi and my wife's 2010 Honda Accord. The BMW is mostly a weekend car that sits covered outside and the Accord is the workhorse enduring all the usual abuse of a 2-year old and the occasional long road-trip.
I've found the most challenging thing is keeping up with the BMW's black paint, but my expectations are not a show car shine, but simply minor corrections 50-60% defect removal, amping the gloss, and maintaining a sealant. I will eventually try a coating after I use up the rest of my Blackfire sealant.
