On some forums I participate on there is a radio button that allows you to leave a positive reputation for a member when the member helps you out or posts something that you would deem worthwhile. When you add to a members rep there is usually a square under the members name that becomes visible and then will change colors as more rep is added. There is even a dialog box that pops up where you can say why you are leaving the rep and sign your name.

If your forum supports this type of feature is there any chance of turning it on?

I don't really think that would fit well with the type of community AG is trying to run here. The whole concept of "rep points" creates more problems than it solves when it comes to fellowship, and isn't always an accurate representation of a given member's level of knowledge or ability to provide worthwhile information.

Just my $0.02

Great answer:dblthumb2:

I too would be worried that some might use it harshly versus as designed to really help those members that "positively" stick out.

:iagree:

The best detailer in the world could come on here as a "new guy", post the best information ever and people may not believe a word he says because he has only one post and no rep points.

Thanks for the input. I can see your points and agree. Sometimes I go through life with blinders on. LOL.
