Menz Power Finish

The green and white pad are a very good combo with 203. You should still follow up with with a finishing pad(blue) and some finishing polish, 85rd or Ultrafina. You can use 203 with an orange if you like but then you are going to need to follow that up with a white or green pad, then your finishing pad. Once you use the orange pad you are going to need follow it up with atleast two other steps.

The polish will look transparent, like when you see those oil type streaks in water.

Thanks ASPHALT ROCKET. Sounds good. I have some 85rd, too. I appreciate the advice!

I received the 16oz of PO203. Ran a pass on a white, followed by PO85RD on a blue, car was an 08 GTI, minimal scratches, a few RIDS. Came out VERY nice. Worked until it went transparent as well. Quite nice to work with. Ran at 1500-1800, then down to 800-1200. Removed and finished with PO85RD.

What speed would be good to use this on with a flex 3401? Will be using a white pad too.

Will I have to finsh down with a final polish? This will be done on my own personal cars to maintain them. Not looking for 100% paint correction either.

I use it on speed 5 with the flex. Ideally you would probally want to go with the soft LC green pad as a one step. I would follow up the white pad with a finishing polish on a gray pad.

Yes i was interested in that too. i neglected to purchase any green pads thinking that i would have been ok with my white ccs and kompressors. I thought it had said that in order to somewhat jewel the paint with power finish you had to release pressure on the machine....any ideas?

All...

How does this compare to PO91E (Intensive Polish)? I have a bottle of PO91E coming, and now am wondering if I ordered the right one. I also have PO87MC (micro) already, so I was planning to go this route:

PO91E with orange/white pad
PO87MC with white
PO115CQ with black (if needed)

will that work? or do i still need the PO203 (power finish)?

The 91E is intensive polish, it works fine. Power finish is just a little stronger and finishes down better. Try the IP on a white pad first, then follow it up with the 87MC on a gray(black) pad. Only use the orange pad if needed.

Do you use speed 5 for the whole process or speed 5 then down to speed 4?

Site says that you can use white or green pad. I thought I would use the white to help get rid of minor swirls then follow up with paint sealant.

I'm just telling you that a white pad will leave behind some marring. You can use the white, but ideally the soft green would be better. If you don't have soft green, the white will do. Doing it with a white is better than not doing it at all. If you have a finishing polish you could follow up the PF 203 with the finishing polish on a gray pad. That would be even better than just using the white pad.

It's possible to use FPII/87MC on a BLACK pad? wouldn't that defeat the purpose since the black pads have no cut at all? Or are you relying on the cut of the FPII liquid itself? You don't recommend the white pad for FPII?

Did you read the descrition? Even the AG page says the IP will leave marring. Follow up with 87MC on a gray pad. The gray pad is a finishing pad. So, yes it really has no cut, but that is the purpose. You want the polish to do the work and not leave any marring behind. The white pad will leave some marring behind, it is a cutting pad, right?

Thanks, I get it now. I will get me some soft green pads too.

Thanks for the advice... but next time, take it easy on the snips. We're all here to learn. Some of us folks are new to this and would like to learn from you "pro's" without scorn or sarcasm.

Easy buddy! I didn't mean it as a snip. I was just asking a question. I don't make snips on here, and help out as much as I can w/o scorn or sarcasm. Ask anyone on here. Sorry you took it that way.

I get zero marring from any pad (save for yellow), so I wouldnt worry about it. You have to allow it to finish down completely, which is the only way Power Finish will marr.

I use pressure for the first 2-3 passes and then ease off for the next few passes and then use little to no pressure on the last couple passes. Leaves an LSP ready finish that is very close to a jeweled panel. I did the side by sides with this and then PO87mc and saw little difference on any of the cars I have tried it on.

I am sorry but I find that had to believe you get no marring except from the yellow pad. Then you go on to say that it is very close to a jeweled finish, once again I have to call bs. Sounds like you are not doing an IPA wipe down to see the true finish because other pads besides the yellow are/will mar the surface. Even the gray pad can mar the surface that is why you jewel with a blue pad. Sorry but what you are saying is not making sense and is not true.

Plus 1..... Either IPA wipedown is missing or your eyes are missing it... It's there, trust me!

A grey pad can marr??? Ummm, no. I can wipe a grey pad completely dry on my black saab 900 (super soft paint) and not leave a single mark. There is a problem if you get marring from a grey pad, you are doing something seriously wrong. I dont know what to tell you other than it is all in the technique as to whether you get marring. Have you even used this product?

Go search for my thread called "British Racing Green" and look at the correction photos. Orange pad, PC, XMT 360, right in the sun. Tell me if you see any marring.

Edit: here is a picture of the finish it leaves. I took these a few days ago, and used the isopropyl wipe down technique.
