I recently bought a Makita Rotary and a wide variety of CCS foam pads along with
Powergloss
Menzerna Super Finish (Nano) PO 106 FA 32 oz.

Super Intense Polish
and
85RD

When I would apply polish to my 5.5 pads /DA I would spray pad conditioner to wet the pad a bit and then spin the pad and apply a ring to the outer to middle of the pad. Was always good to go.

Now with the rotary theres more pad. And also being that the pad is moving more do I need to apply more product? Is it me or does the Menz come out a little thick? It seems that after half a section Im all dried out. Even after priming the pad.

Menz is expensive and I definitely dont want to use too much. What the pattern for application? How much do I need and what am I looking for on the paint to know when Ive got it right?

With Menzerna, there's no need to use a pad conditioner. Just use the polish itself to prime the pad. A little bit goes a long way with Menzerna. You can use about 4 pea sized dots on the pad to do a 2x2 area.

I dont find a need to prime the pad (wet) with Menzerna products. I often find 2 perhaps three small dots is all thats needed. More on the initial panel and less going forward. I have seen some put three small stripes across pad on first use too.

really? Just 3 dots? thats like just polishing with the pad alone isnt it?

I mean when you use a DA you see the polish pattern on the area you are working. You see that polish go from cloudy to a fine haze when done. When I polish with the Makita I almost see NO polish on the paint...is that right?

I don't prime the pad either.Use alot less product with the rotary just be carefull and remember tape is your best freind.Polish tend to flash faster with a rotary then the pc also.

I don't think 3 dots is enough . I just came back from polishing my car with the Makita 9227 and menz sip then 85rd . You will find the right amount to use. Maybe one or two lines down the pad is good but just 3 dots , I don't think so .

I pick up a 6" line to prime and then only a 3" line for the next two sections and then only 2-3 pea size after that. Brush your pad often.

that actually seems like a perfect routine. Thanks Surfer!

The biggest mistake you'll do with Menz is using too much...challenge yourself and see how little you can actually use...you'll be amazed/

Good to know. And great tips. Thank you!
