Menzerna PG1000

Here's a little bit of what FG400 can do and how nice it finishes. On stuff like this I use tufbuf wool on a rotary with the FG400 and call it a day with nothing afterwards.

This was just one pass with a rotary and tufbuf. As you can see it needs more to get back to true deep orange/red, but most farmers can't tell. We got rained out that day and it was bugging me looking at how bad it was faded so I quick hit it once. I probably would've went back and sanded it down though then buffed it to get a deep color, but its traded off and gone now.

Takes out 1500 grit sanding marks in cured clear coat easily as well. This is on a German tractor, not sure if they use the ceramiclear's or not pretty rare for a tractor to come with a Clear to begin with.

I used FG400 with my 3401 as a one step polish on this tractor before opti-coat.

And my bottles empty now. Oh well, I can finish with the PF2500 on what I am working on today. I ordered some more last week.

Thanks for all the replies..... I had just bought the 3 products mentioned and was hoping they were at least "pretty good" if not better :)

Now, if it ever quits raining and the temp gets above 50* I've got some work to do...... good work too.

Well of course they are "pretty good", however "better" isn't exactly how you would describe any differences between Menzerna DAT products and Meguiar's SMAT products.

What you have are products that are *different*, not necessarily "better".

They are designed from the ground up as different products. On some paint systems both work splendidly whilst on others one will stand out over the other. Yet that doesn't mean that you are confined to a single product, on that particular vehicle. ;)

As was already mentioned, SMAT tends to compound better (no matter WHEN or WHERE you use it), and can actually finish down amazing. Albeit generally on paints that are described as "hard". At the end of the day however it will be the choice of product that determines how well (or unwell) it finishes. Remembering that there are more choices than 101/105/205. (Like UC and UP, which should be part of your arsenal as well.)

My technique needs more work than anything else. Also, I have a car with very soft paint. I've considered the UC, but, for now I think I need to use some of the product I have to make a determination about buying anything else.
This coming week is going to be dry, sunny and in the 70s for the most part!! Whoohooo.... been waiting for this! It'll probably take me 3 daysw just to do the outside..... or make that four..... work 2 days, take one day off for golf, then another day ...... or maybe I'll put the golf off till I finish the outside of the car since I've been dying to get that done for 2 months.
