Menzerna PO 85RD results and quick comments on other products

Which Hydro Techs did you use? Low profile 7/8 inch or the 1.25 inch thick pads?
Ultimate Compound: 6.5" HT "thick" cyan, 5.5" HT "thin" cyan, and Surbuf 5.5"
SwirlX: 5.5" HT "thin" tangerine
85RD: 5.5" HT "thin" crimson

Thanks. I'll make sure to keep an eye on my cyan pads when I use them. I have the 5.5" low profile.

Your Boxster looks great after 10 years. I just bought some PO 85rd and look forward to using it on my car in the spring. It just snowed here yesterday so my car maybe in the garage all winter.
Thanks!

Cayman Outside Playing = Huge Fun!
Cayman Stuck in Garage = Sad :(

I have experienced the same problem on HT 6.5" thick, 5.5" thick, and 5.5" thin. Actually, I noticed some cracking on a tangerine HT, but I only experienced the Velcro delaminating on the 5.5" thin. That was on probably the most heavily used one, but they are all new (first time use).

My theory is it's because of the closed cell foam structure being able to flex less, but who knows. Other conventional foam pads I've used several times without any significant deterioration. Makes me take an interest in the new "disposable" ones.

Thanks!

Do you have an PTG? I never really done sanding on a huge area but wanted to know if you needed one.

Looks great!!! Good job Brett looks brand new.:props:

Thanks for sharing! I'm looking for polishes to try and am indecisive

Menzerna PO85RD is a great finishing polish and I have to agree with you completely! Using this polish makes the finish glow like glass!!

Nice work! :props:

I thought 205 and 85rd are both finishing polishes? why both?
I'm still trying to put together the best combo for my 2010 black sand pearl Toyota Corolla.
I read nice things about 105/205. I'm trying to get all this straight, so I can start getting some products. Very confusing sometimes

Thanks

M205, in my experience on softer paints, will still leave very small amounts of marring. P085rd takes care of that and leaves a flawless finish. I think the vast majority of cars end up looking great after M205 though.

Great review! And thanks to whoever bumped this, I was just researching the PO85 ;)
