Unfortunately it's is the truth. There is nothing wrong with anyone saying they dislike something but to put it down or act like they are a pro with the product just gets annoying. I love to help those who are really trying to learn on here and get a legite review. Sorry if anyone was offended but it just frustrating for those who are falsely informed on something. And unfortionutly it happens more times then not.

Oddly enough, I agree with you. Solid experience with a product and enough experience with other, similar products to make a good comparative analysis is very important to me. Especially irritating to me are the, "this product ROCKS!" fanboy comments.
My point is that a pro's comments need to be taken with a grain of salt because their goals and constraints are different. For example, a steamer probably isn't cost effective for most amateurs regardless of how many pros like them. A hundred pros may say, "xyz steamer is the best!" and my response will always be, "I don't care."

you guys realize some of the pros do love detailing as a whole and not just for a dollar, me for one i'm in it to make money but i LOVE doing it for my own use. so my thoughts come from both sides of the fence, as my signature says detailing is not just a hobby but a passion for some of us and it don't matter if were working on a customers vehicle or our own we want products that work great, and increase time. i for one even personally will not use zaino products, they look like rebadged duragloss products anyways and i cannot stand sal zaino's thought process its totally skewed so i wont use their products. but saying a pro cant offer advice to a hobbyist is just plain ignorant, not all pro's just do it for money a lot love doing it getting paid or not...your steamer comment makes no sense, all good steamers cost atl east 100$ and i for one love mine, its so useful around the house it pays for itself again and again, then again nothing is cheap anymore so for an electronically operated tool most of the time your going to pay 75-100$ for it, gotta remember some hobbyists pay 300$ for a tin of wax so a steamer is nothing to them. and to me nothing is the best, its all personal preference on what works the best for your situation and trying to spread the knowledge to others. also, to say take a pro's comments with a grain of salt is really ignorant, why tell people to stop learning? seriously? what logical sense does that make? if someone is trying to help listen to their comments, absorb the needed information and dispose of the rest, all of us here are trying to help each other so to say take a pro's comments with a grain of salt just because hes a pro is not logical. as i said most of us here are here to help others and learn more or teach others more about this one thing that brings a community together. if your not going to take any advice or see all advice as negative just dont participate in discussion forums of any kind...and thats my 2 cents.

Jeez you guys. You are totally comparing apples oranges. Just because a pro uses cost effective products doesn't mean he is clueless about boutique products.let's trim all the fat off this thread and take everyone's ego and delicate sensibilities out of this. Both sides of the argument have demonstrated frustration with statements Not backed with any other information. "this stuff sucks/rocks "

If you are an amateur or a pro and you want to comment on a product you need to give the important information so the reader of your statement can determine if that assessment applies to them. What machine did you use? What pads? What speed? Shade or sunlight? Hot or cold? Mercedes or Honda?how fast were you moving the machine? Important facts.
When we write medical reports at work we paint the whole picture. We don't just say "an old lady with chest pain." we say a 56yr old female complaining of moderate chest pain radiating to her left arm. Patient has a history of cardiac issues is on these drugs is allergic to these drugs " and so on.

:iagree:, now people saying a product is good if someone already has an awesome review of it i dont find pointless, now they are just agreeing, like if its a thread about a product that a ton of people use i just say " this is a great product" without no explanation, good products that people know about do not need everyone who likes the product to give an explanation of why they like it....fact of them using it and continue to use it is good enough for me unless thats all they can get...its just not something to rant and rave about someone saying they agree and like a product. as i said why list reasons if someone else has already written an awesome review that says how good it was without yourself typing it.and for me just to say i like xxxxx product im not gonna state what paint i used it on, what machine,speed,pad, ect ect unless it pertains what the OP is asking/taking about in the thread, that is what a review is for and if a product has plenty of reviews you can find a situation you find yourself in that is why more people need to write reviews even if its not a top notch corey review any simple review will work. imo, this thread has been trimmed enough don't need to be trimmed more!
Absolutely. Everyone can have an opinion. I personally don't like bfms wax. I can state that but it doesn't give me a right to completely put it down and say it sucks. Cause it works, does its job but I personally don't prefer it over other waxes. Fact is almost everything on the market works but it's what you personally like is what you buy.
I agree pros and ametures have 2 different views on products. For instance I have products I use for customer cars and separate products for my personal cars.
