Hey guys,

I just wanted to give some quick insight on the Menzerna Power Lock Sealant.

I have been a very big user of this product since it came out. When it was offered in the white bottle.

Menzerna has since changed up the bottling to black , better quality bottles.

BUT, I know I can not be the only person to notice the changes in the formula.

First let me start by stating some of the properties of the sealant that came in the white bottle.

White bottle Menzerna Power Lock
- Very runny liquid
- Separated easily
- Had the potential to dust if left to haze for too long
- Tremendous look, slickness and durability

Now, the product in the black bottle is for sure different. So I will just list the key differences that I have noticed. Keep in mind I have gone through 2 16 oz bottles and also own a 32oz bottle since the black bottle change. Here is what has been consistent with each new bottle

Black bottle Menzerna Power Lock
-Very thick lotion
-Spreads easier and faster
-Does NOT separate in bottle no matter how much time it sits (that I have noticed)
-Does NOT dust upon removal
-Hazes up noticeably faster (withing 5 minutes is ready for removal)
-Product NOTICEABLE sits upon the face of a machine finishing pad better
-Tremendous look,slickness and durability

Has anyone else noticed these changes ?

I do like that the product applies via machine easier though. If i had to guess, I would say that the product was noticeably thickened up to be more machine pad friendly. The old product would really soak into finishing pads fast and a lot would go to waste. If you prime the pad with the new product, the sealant really sits up upon itself, staying on top of the pad and spreading easier.

Have not had a chance to, but am looking forward to trying. Had been a big fan of FMJ (which I understand is it's predecessor) and sure to pick some up some time this summer.

sounds like an interesting update ... original version was great !

Thanks for the update!! I love my Menzerna PL and I can't wait to use up my bottle for a new one. I hate the runny characteristic and am looking forward to the thick consistency of the new ones.

oh, then you will be VERY happy. Its very thick now. almost as thick as CG glaze's or blacklight, but definitely more wet.

ok guys, check out the video of "What's in the garage" from Mike Phillips. He uses the powerlock at the 10:30 minute mark of the video.

You can see how much thicker the product is in the video. But its still a very wet product.

I kinda liked it being runny for some reason. Easy to get it out of the bottle, I never felt like I was overusing product. Oh well. I don't need any for a while.

Cool update, thanks! The earlier version I used was easy to use and had great durability.
