Menzerna Powerlock - a little test

On my iphone they were right, but on my computer now some are upside down and sideways.

Let's try this on the PowerLock:

Mineral Spirits! Keep in mind, this is still the same single coat of Powelock. It hasn't been re-freshest or topped in anyway.

Using plenty of mineral spirit solvent:

Dwelling on the surface after I rubbed it in well:

PowerLock still beads well!

Maybe you should try lighting it on fire next?!?!

I might have missed it, but have you tried claying it?

PL has now been through Meg's APC+ 1:4, Grime Reaper 1:5, IPA 70% (didn't post), Eraser, Sonus All In 1 1:10, Griot's Paint Prep, and Mineral Spirits and is holding welll. You could also add Goo Gone to the list, as I did that on a previous test. Made no difference.

This stuff really has earned the name POWERlock.

How about this? Just apply WGDGPS and what ever else next to the PL. Let thim sit for like an hour like you did at first, and then go back and try to remove all of them.

Swanic, I read somewhere that PL isnt actually from Menzerna? Is this true?

If Powerlock is a sealant more than it is a wax, it makes sense that your typical "wax removers" aren't going to have a huge effect on it.

I'd be interested to see if something like a strong acid or base will strip it or eat through it. lemon juice? coke? bleach?

It is just a sealant and not meant to be a wax or combo product at all.

It's curing. Hopefully I'll get to play with it tonight. Also have BFWD, Powerlock over BlackHole, and PL plain next to it.

Never heard that. Don't know.

Griots PP says it removes "polymer silicone", so I would think that would mean sealants, not carnuba wax. Also, EX-P died fast. I assumed most sealants were similar prior to this in their resistance to chemicals.

This is just insane. I'm not surprised "EX-P died fast" but I really can't wrap my head around how the PL has withstood that whole list of cleaners.

PL is from Menzerna USA, IMO it's the same thing. I've always touted the sealant as a wonder LSP but couldn't have foreseen this torture. Great review/comparison and thanks for doing it.

Seems like Powerlock could compete with some coatings on the market. I amazed everytime I open this thread. I guess maybe gasoline and a blow torch next:dunno:

I know this thread was dedicated to durability but how does PL look? Does it have any character to it or is it like most sealants - a sterile gloss?

I haven't use it without a topper in a few years, so I'm not sure.

It has no glow whatsoever, more like the car is wrapped in shiny sexy plastic.

Hard candy shine like most sealants.

Great test swanicyouth!

I want to see powerlock vs collinite 845.

Also want to see what would happen if you use clay and if that doesn't work then Chem Guys Wash N Gloss at a strip ratio
