Menzerna SHC300 vs FG400

I think I am learning that Menzerna has the better compounds per $ for full blown paint correction.

My Megs UC isnt able to fully fix any of my cars.


My question is...whats the difference between these 2 compounds and what should go into my decision making as to which to buy?
 
I would ask [email protected] is the Menzerna expert. I think they just changed the names and it is the same....but do not quote me on that. I know Menzerna is changing their product names to make it easier to understand.
 
300 is there newest, most aggressive compound. 400 has been top dawg in the lineup for a while. I have not used 300 yet, but use 400 often.
 
300 is more cut, less finishing. 400 is less cut, more finishing, in comparison.
300 is hazier, 400 is glossier. But the 300 haze is easily corrected afterwards.
300, imo, is a compound more suited for people who work with detailing everyday, where you get all kinds of trashed, screwed up badly paints, when the extreme versatility of the 400 falls short, and you need a bit more cut.

FG400-rotary and orbital Cut 8 Gloss 8
SC300-rotary Cut 10 Gloss 6

Hi,

What are you working on and what machine and pads do you have?

The difference is quite a bit. However you may not need the aggressiveness of SC300.

The best way to get started on the Menzerna range is FG400 and SF4000. This will cover your cutting and polishing areas and help you get going.

95 Trans Am (white).
09 Volvo S80 (black)

I have a PC7424
Cutting pads are LC CCS - yellow or orange

The TA paint was pretty badly swirled. The UC/yellow got about 70% correction over the entire car.
The Volvo wasnt as bad (considering its color) and I got about 85% correction on a test section on the hood.
