One of the member's volunteered their black Mercedes-Benz for demonstrations on how to inspect paint, clay paint and then remove swirls using both a Porter Cable 7424XP or a Flex 3401 with Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover and Wolfgang Advanced Finishing Polish. Afterwards we sealed the paint with Wolfgang Fuzion.

Here's a hood shot. I measured all the body panels and in my opinion, this Mercedes-Benz had very thin factory paint as all my measurements were in the 2 to 4 mil range. That's not very thick...

After claying, there was a demonstration on how to use the Porter Cable style of DA Polisher...

For the guys that want to know what we used to remove all the swirls and scratches out of the finish of the Mercedes-Benz demo car, here's a list...

On Autogeek.net

The below polishes also come in 8 ounce and 32 ounce options and these use some of the best abrasive technology around.

Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0 16 oz

Wolfgang Finishing Glaze 3.0 16 oz

Wolfgang Füzion Carnauba Polymer Estate Wax

Here's the clay, since the owner had just clayed recently we used the Pinnacle Clay as it's an "Ultra Fine" grade and safe for frequent use on daily drivers.

Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay

We used the Porter Cable with 5.5" LC Flat Pads

Porter Cable 7424XP

Lake Country 5.5" Flat Pads

5" Lake Country Backing Plate

We used the Flex 3401 with 6.5" CCS Pads

Very cool Mike. What was the groups reaction after using all the cool gear in the AG garage?

Where is the inspection shot?

They were very impressed. I didn't take an after shot. I don't take a lot of pictures at these clinics.

Besides that I had 17 guys inspecting the paint after I did the demo and not a single question or complaint, just eye-opening results.
