we received the visit of a german beauty, having very hazy, yellowed headlights, with scratches. And this was doing no justice to the look of this ride. We had to restore the same to a new look.

I am amazed at how bad Mercedes lenses can get. Very nice work!

Very nice save.

How is the paint on this car?

Thanks for your encouraging words Mike.

This is the first german car i did, only worked on the headlights. But the paint seems as hard as rock compared to the Hondas and Toyotas :props:

Will update more pics of the engine cleaning soon :xyxthumbs:

what did you do to these? All I see in onr in your post.

Thanks for and reading and posting buddy

Here's my process, very simple:

1. Wash & clay
2. Wetsand with 1500 grit (very little effect)
3. Go down to 800 grit
4. then back to 1500 grit until 800 grit marks no longer visible
5. repeat the process with 2000 grit, followed by 2500
6. test spot using Makita rotary Menz PG S34A on LC orange 4" pad
(Tried Optimum hyper compound LC orange, it simply doesn't work well for me, best suited for wool pad)
7. followed by Menz 203s on LC wool 4" pad to get the best out the wool pad's correction ability and smoothness of Menz 203s)
8. Finished with Menz PO85rd on LC white
9. Sealed with Menz PowerLock

(used ONR in between some of the steps of course)

cheers :xyxthumbs:

Looking good! I bought the diamondite headlight kit...
I am looking for a good car to try it out...
Hope it comes any close to that!

Did any of you guys try diamondite restoration kit ?

Nice work! I'm trying to do my but trying to stay away from sanding. I'm just praying that the compound can cut the oxidation away. If not then I guess it's sanding if it comes down to that.

thanks for the explanation, buddy <---- (little insulting calling someone this)

You just reminded me of a Dane Cook skit. Ha ha, chief.

Headlights look awesome. I believe I may try this soon.
