A very good client of mine recently took delivery of this brand new Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series and brought me out to correct it and coat it with CQuartz Finest. I've enjoyed working on a couple of his C63 AMG Black Series, but I was very excited to work on his SLS AMG Black Series. It was fortunate enough to escape a dealer wash, but there were still issues from the factory to be sorted out. A solid 3 days went into this beauty at the beautiful facility of Club Auto Sport in San Jose, CA. After it was completed, I had my friend James Larieau come out and shoot some nice photos of this very special car. Onto the pics......

As I arrived at Club Auto Sport, the SLS Black had all its shipping wrapping and padding still in place. I love getting cars this "factory fresh"

Very cool emergency trunk release button flashing green....just in case you get locked in the trunk.

Even though no dealer washed the car, it was far from defect-free. It had its fair share of light marring, swirls, hard water spot etching, and extensive DA sanding marks.

At this point I brought Ryan out to help me get the final compounding and polishing done. The hood required 16hrs by itself to correct the extremely heavy DA sanding marks

Hope you enjoyed the photos!

Wow, this just earned a place in my top 5 write ups on AG ever. That is such a cool car that you just don't see every day and you guys really did an amazing job correcting the shoddy prep work from the factory.

I'm speechless, there is no doubt that you just set the bar high with this write up!

i just recently saw a matte gray SLS AMG black edition at a recent cards and coffee event

Wow. Incredible job and write up! Can't believe how many sanding marks where still on the hood! Fantastic job!!!

Beautiful Work

Beautiful Photography

Was surprised that the hood took 16 hours

Quick Math:

6' x 6' hood
5.5" pad
Overlapping by 50%
@ 1" per second
= 31 minutes per pass

That means there were theoretically 31 passes during the 16 hours required to correct the hood?

Very professional and highest level of it.

Although the car is amazing, it only turned out amazing in reality after being properly detailed. Owner must be glad for having someone like you around.

Congratulations on this work, and thanks for sharing.
