Messed up some pads and need advice on cleaning.

Hey all, I messed up some of my Meg's microfiber pads with Blackfire Wet Diamond. I am unable to clean these pads because of the oils and stuff in stuck on the pad. I tried soaking them in Dawn, scrubbing with dawn, scrubbing with simple kitchen degreaser even and still nothing. Anyone have any idea how to remove it from these pads? I would hate to waste them as they have decent life left, well did
 
Soak them in 3D Towel Clean mixed accordingly, scrub gently and rinse. Not sure if what is messed up...pics?

They are filled with the product still. If you press as you would to kind of squeegee out water after washing you can fill the wax type polymer left in the microfiber. Basically like there is wax left on the pad.
 
I soak my pads in mckees pad cleaner for 15 or min minutes and lightly agitate with a pad brush as well as flatten them face down on a grit guard in the bucket and do the back and forth to try and work the product out. Took a stubborn pad with klasse in it and got it all out. Then rinsed with luke warm water

Doesn't matter. 3D Towel clean will break it down and get it out. I've cleaned pads with all kinds of products in them without issue. I use very warm but not hot water. Whenever I'm done with a pad or towel, I plop them in a 5gal bucket with the above mixed up so they begin to soak immediately. I leave them until later that night or next day and I begin to clean them up.
 
I'm just curious as to why you used a sealant on mf pads?

Yep.... and that's a good sign.

That means the sealant WON'T break down easily when it's on you car.


If the wax or sealant washed EASILY our of a buffing pad, (be it foam or microfiber), that means it would wash easily off of your car.


Yep... getting the wax or sealant out of any type of pad, machine buffing pads or hand applicators is sign the product is NOT water soluble and that's what you want with protection ingredients.

I also use Towel Kleen (TK) on my pads, but I wasn't able to remove Collinite 845 from my finishing pad entirely with it. Even after pre-spraying the pad, soaking it in TK solution, spraying again then scrubbing and kneeding, there was still some 845 in the pad. I called it quits there, as I'll just be using that pad with 845 again. So I think that supports what Mike said above.
