Metro Vac N'Blow - Exhaust button

Just received my portable Vac N'Blow.

When installing the hose on the suction side it just slips over the tank nipple. All is good. When installing the same hose on the exhaust tank nipple there is a spring loaded button that you have to depress to slide the hose on.

My question is :

There is not a hole in the hose to receive the button. The button deforms the hose end which makes me think that, over time, the hose might not fit tightly on the suction end.

Am I missing something here?

By the way, this is a top quality vac. Perfect!!!!!!!

It is a flex hose with a rubber end fittings, I don't think over time the retention button will deform the fitting. If it does and the hose keeps coming off, you can always purchase a new hose for 20 bucks.

:iagree: What I am thinking is that its either an old design or they kept it in the design for future expansion on the vac's. Either way it goes I don't think you have anything to worry about. Check the warranty on it just for peace of mind. AG and Metro have great customer service (atleast from what I hear about Metro).

I think I will drill a hole in the hose to receive the button. The hole should be no factor when installed on the suction end.

I have not had the hose blow off yet, but I have managed to launch all of the attachments up to 20 feet. This thing has a strong exhaust. We could use a button for every attachment.

The switch was turned on, and my back was to the unit, the first time I plugged it in. The exhaust pressure rolled it across the room until it unplugged the cord from the wall.

Yep, That is the way it works. I have not had an issue with it stretching when put on the exhaust tube and then back on the
intake but I typically leave it on the intake (vac mode).
