MF's from Costco

BTW I use the yellow mf's from Costco for wheels and under the hood. They will never touch my paint.

agreed. For enthusiasts' use, if you get a bunch of quality MF's from Pakshak, they'll last you a really long time. The costco ones, I've found that the nap "shrinks" after a few washes. They're now designated to wheel, interior and kitchen use at my home.

the costco Micro fibers are cheap. for me they are a one use only on a car, then they are a grease rag, or used for shipping padding.

36 for $14 is a great deal.

i use them as well. works best when folded into eighths. gives a nice cushion. great for qd paint, interiors and old ones for wheels. still use higher grade mfs for removing waxes and sealants.

If the costco mf's are great for qding why not for waxes and sealants?

yello costco for wheels, shop towel, engine, and general household cleaning only. i think they have improved them since last summer but still generally suk.

on the other hand, their new 4-pack and chenille washmitt combo is really nice. the one they offered last year again suk'd so maybe they are listening to customers

for some strange ocd reason i just reach for the thicker ones when removing wax/sealants. no real explanation.

well... sometimes some people have different experiences than others (good or bad) on certain products. if you haven't tried the grey 530 supreme's they are one of the nicest microfibers out there. i'll continue to the AG microfibers until i experience any problems. sorry to hear your experience has not been a good one...

Im waiting for the grey 530 supremes to go on bogo again at autogeek, keep kicking myself for not getting 6 for the price of 3 when they had the bogo recently

Those yellow MF's from Costco will scratch a CD. Do yourself a favor and buy some Cobra MF's.

I was working on a friend's computer last month and needed to reload some software from a CD. That CD was soiled (not scratched - dirty) so my friend gave me a new Costco yellow MF cloth to use. I used it heavily on that CD and it didn't leave so much as a hint of a scratch. Go figure.

Costco, Sams and BJ's wholesale have all upgraded their Microfiber Quality in the last 12 months. If you had purchased from them a year ago and were unhappy you may have a different result now. I always Buy the best I can afford that way there are no regrets. COBRA still is a notch above the rest and durabilty wise I have a number of Cobras that have been washed 200 times with no apparent wear.

I purchase mine from SAMS. The yellow and green ones are plush. The blue ones work great for interior cleaning and the orange ones are good for everything else. They have not scratched one car I have done and at $10 for a 25 count pack, I just can't justify purchasing COBRA ones that linted on me horribly.

I'm intrigued with the MF towel discussions. Clearly there are differences between mfg. and the towels themselves, but there is much marketing spin & pretty hefty margins I would suspect. Re: the post about Meguiar's Supreme at 36 for $~66 (less than $2 per) they must work......Meguiar's wouldn't sell a bum MF along with their better products??;)

Lots of opinions, but using this as an example.....what is the comparable Cobra towel, for instance? I assume that based on what I read, the Meguiar's can be use for wax/polish removal & buffing (and I suppose, a lot of other things). It's not a waffle for drying and probably not a window towel......

What do you think??

I have used the yellow costco towels for years, some of the old packages once washed for the first time came out bad while others cameout great.

I agree- my Cobra MFs look new and have been washed prolly 60 times.

I picked up some Vroom MF's today at Target on discount. $10 for 2-8 packs! It's hard to beat 65 cents a pop for 16 decent quality MF's. I'm sticking with Cobra when drying and polishing (not that I doubt the Vroom's but I've already purchased the Cobras), but these should be great for interior applications. Target suprised me with the selection of good/better-than-average quality car care products they carry.
