I have a good supply of micro fiber that I purchased during a BOGO sale here awhile back , but they shed like crazy. They leave little fibers on my paint that are terrible to get off. Does anyone have any recommendations on some good microfiber that won't leave me fighting ?

+1 on washing them first. Also would recommend white vinegar in frost rinse, followed by final rinse. I just spent the better part of my weekend washing 160 Eagle Edgeless. They are nice when brand new, but have to be washed first to get any type of residue or packing debris out before use.

And that only includes a small portion of what he owns :dblthumb2:

Can never have enough rite? But to OP, if you want the Best, call Corey for some Microfiber Madness or even his BOA's. Also the "fluffy edgeless or eagles" from TRC & MFT are both great and get a lot cheaper when you buy in bulk. None of these towels lint on me, but I do always wash w/ 2 rinse cycles first.

Send him a PM already :props:

I did wash them before use. They worked great the first time out, and after that, they have progressively became worse and worse about leaving this linty stuff on the paint, that's rather hard to remove.

Which towels are you having an issue with?

Why on earth do you need 160 eagle edgeless towels, business?

I have many more than that. Those were just what I bought on BF since they were a lil cheaper. I just do side jobs here and there and I don't EVER want to run out. Same goes for pads.

Looking in the store, I can't seem to locate them. They look similar to the miracle towel, but the outer edge is a different color. Next time I get into them, I shall snap a photo of them. They were BOGO about this time last year.

I've always mixed up oxyclean, made sure it was dissolved real well, and then poured it into the washing machine. This probably isn't the proper protocol, but its always worked until now...

Here is the fuzz I'm getting- I appolgize for the pic. I had a hard time getting the right angle to show it.

Here's the towel...

So they have been doing this since last year? Or just started?

I'm not sure it's the oxyclean (others might), but I would either try regular detergent on a few, or even better, a dedicated MF detergent to rule it out. Do a sample size, a few MFs in bucket with alittle detergent and see what happens.

Once again, I'm not positive, but I'd change the wash and see what it gives you.

Are you only using oxyclean? I would suggest a dedicated MF wash as well. Also doing a second rinse (I always put 4oz of vinegar in first rinse) If you don't want to use a dedicated MF wash, try Ecos or Tide free and clear.

Sometimes MF towels just start to wear out and begin linting more and more

I don't think it has anything to do with your choice of detergent

True towels will wear out, but in under a year?? Unless you're in a high volume shop or extremely rough on them they shouldn't degrade that fast.

OxiClean on its own is not a laundry detergent, it is mostly sodium percarbonate.
