i have some very minor pitting in the clear coat on my bumper/hood from driving on the highway...its hard to see but i can see it...can i polish this out with my udm...if soo, what pad/polish combo is best...i have pinnical advanced swirl remover, and advanced finishing polish...i also have some scratch x on hand as well...i would like the bumper skin and hood to look as close to perfect as i can...i am probably the only one who can see the pitting, but i am the only one who matters in this case....

Give it a try. At a minimum it will improve it. Rule of thumb is if you can catch your finger nail in the pits they will not polish out without abrading too much clear coat. I'd start with your ASR and orange pad.

yea, the tiny specs are really light, i might do the rest of the car with a white pad, and do the bumper skin with the orange pad...i am hopping they will come out, but the downside is that from driving on the highway, the bumper skin will just get knicked up again...you really cant see without close inspection under the sun light....

There are some things that you have to live with when dealing with a daily driver. Now if this were a show car, garage queen, or a vehicle that is going to get clear bra'd I can see the need for perfection, but on a DD it isn't possible. Treat the front end like you would the rest of the car. Since it takes the most abuse, don't go overboard because if you take the clear down too far you'll have bigger concerns in the future.
