microfiber help

the problem with buying in bulk, especially in these warehouse savings clubs, you are bound to have a couple seconds or misses slipped in.

not really a big deal for me, since they will be regulated to less important tasks. i always inspect all mf's before i use them and these would be washed seperately from my more important/good mf's anyway...

The Surpreme's 530 are awesome and I have some of the Viking DQ towels that I like also. I also like Cobra edgless towels...

The orange Vroom towels from Target lint like crazy. Only found this out after my first detail session. The halogen lights were brutal, which showed that the Pinnacle ASR and AFP really worked (no more swirls). But then lots of lint from the Vroom all over the panel. Then I made the mistake of washing my new Cobra towels with a couple of them in the same wash. Hope the lint didn't transfer!

Buddy try some boutique MF and you will see a big difference.
Been there, tried that and didn't even get a T-shirt.

I bought some boutique towels from here and a couple of other sites (don't want to name names here) an they started linting all over the vehicle. I washed them all with Micro-restore and let them air dry each time. They never went through a washer with softener and never got machine dried.

The cheap $10 towels from SAMS never lint and they have not induced swirls on any of my jobs, even on the softest paint. They get machine washed with All Free Clear and machined dried on low with the blue dryer balls.

I did buy boutique towels and I did see a difference.

Thanks, but no thanks. I'll stick wih my cheap $10 towels that have never failed me.

just goes to show you, what may work for some may not work for others. if the sams mf's do not cause problems and work for you, then that's all that matters...

Thanks for your opinions. I find them very interesting and now I don't feel so bad. I did the cd scratch test and no problem. I got some very good advise on this thread and just ordered the bogo mf towels to see what I'm missing.

you can never have enough of an assortment of different microfibers! don't worry there is always next time... ;)

The 530s are my favorite mf towels, but like others have said, my lesser quality towels are used for interior and other areas that can't really be scratched. After all the prep and finishing steps it takes to achieve a flawless finish on my cars paint, I rather not gamble on using a lesser quality towel, and besides unless you have a detailing bussiness you really don't have to buy that many, just take care of better MFs and they will last for quite a while. Just my .02

Very good idea, I'm glad you thought of it Because I really need to buy other things to keep going instead of towels right at this moment. Oh ya, that was worth a buck anyway!!!
