Microfiber Static and Dust

Yes, most vehicles or all vehicles have a grounding strap. My hope is to reduce the amount of pollen and dust by either cutting the amount of static electricity or creating a slick smooth surface.

0742, I checked the results of the five sprays. There is no pollen or dust on the hood because there is a fine mist happening.

The rain is here so this photo shows the water beading effect of each spray. Note: in general the beads are uniform in shape. Some very few are an oval shape. The size of the drops greatly differ. Judge for yourself

Yes, most vehicles or all vehicles have a grounding strap.

I think we are describing two different things

A grounding strap transfers energy from the vehicle to the road surface

The grounding wire transfers energy from the engine to the frame, which then transfers the energy to the road via the tires.

Ok, tracking. Hopefully this test with the sprays will yield positive results

Pollen bombs on the hood. Quite difficult to see on the color. Lasted about 38 hours. Mist is in the air once again.

Thanks for trying to document your test however your photos of the hood don't really show us anything at all but reflection of an overcast sky.

I notice certain waxes create a lot of static build up and attract more dust. Most notably carnaubas. I put a fresh coat of Celeste "D" on my GC over the weekend. When I put it on the spoiler and bumpers which are plastic the static that was created was insane. It would pick my arm hair straight up and you could hear the static discharge. Ironically the rear end collects an amazing amount of dirt and dust after just a short drive. When I use a qd in those areas the static is dissipated and barely noticeable.

Evo77, all I have for a camera is my Note 4. There is pollen but the color of the hood makes the pollen quite difficult to see. The results of my test showed me the pollen and dust were repelled for about 38 hours. I have other sprays I am going to test.
