Going to order some Microfiber towels today. Still confused on which to get for what I will be using them for. Suggestions for wax removal, buffing, polishing, final wipe after buffing and Interior. Thanks for your help on this.

if you want a good all-purpose mf towel that can do it all, get the gold plush jr's...

Gold Plush Jr. Microfiber Towel, gold detail cloth, buffing towel, microfiber buffing towel, micro fiber

I like the gold plush jr.'s but not at $5 + a towel. CG has the same towels at a much better price. They are the same towels. You can also check the rag company. They have great quality towels at great prices plus free shipping as well. AG's shipping prices are extremely high. You can also check Microfiber tech. Except for the gold towels from CG I buy everything else from MF tech and the rag company.

I use a 14x14 (I think) Eagle Blue for almost everything, mine have an edge but I see they only have edgeless ones now. They were sold in a pack of 10 when I got them.

Did you miss the summer sale yesterday?

I would wait till the 4th if you could IMO.

Compound removal: 360 gsm (like the gold plush jr)
polish/wax removal: 500-530 gsm
Rinseless wash: 500-530 gsm
Interior: 200 gsm

microfibertech has 360's @ $23 for 10.

Does it count detailing related, if I contemplated about going the Tuff Shine route today on 4 new tires for my Dodge? :D

I've gotten both and the AutoGeek one feels like its more high quality. The CG ones didn't last that long and all the fibers would clump together for some reason.

i disagree, the chemical guys "super towels" are not the same...

Hmm. I had the reverse happen. The CG's worked great for me and the AG's did not perform as well.

it's hit or miss with the cobra microfibers. i've had some lint and some that didn't. the one's that have been linting for me are the green edgeless mf towels (as seen below), which is kinda of a bummer... :( the cg mf towels that have served me well are the blue fluffer with the red edging...

I *TOTALLY* agree with that statement!:dblthumb2:

CG towels are not the same, close, but no cigar. When "mitchliving" was here for training last spring he had a bundle of them. If I remember right the CG towels are 80/20 and MFT are (I know) 75/25.

OTOH, MFT 360's are exactly the same and run a fraction of the cost. (Especially if you order a case of 180, where they'll run less than a buck fifty.):buffing:

I completely agree with Tony and Visitor on this. As a confirmed "towel-aholic" I have towels from pretty much every major supplier, and the CG super towels do not feel at all like the Gold Plush Jr.
Tony and I have a friendly disagreement on Gold Plush vs. MFT 360 (Korean fiber vs Chinese fiber). I feel that the Gold Plush are slightly softer and feel better on paint. Cost is a significant factor though; whether or not one justifies the cost over the other especially if you are buying a dozen or two will depend on budget. MFT's new 400 and 500 are excellent too, just picked up a few of those. Depending on what you are using them for, MFT edgeless grey Korean are, to quote Jeff Spicoli...awesome, totally awesome!

the nice thing is i still have a dozen or so more brand new mft 360gm mf towels (mix of both the yellow and light blue) when they had the microfiber banded edges and not the silk like many are offering today that seem cheap IMO...

+1 for the mft 500 towels. Very soft. If you get mft's 530's though, get the terry edging and not the silk. I had a few silk edge ones that didn't last more than a couple washes. Mft did make it right though when I sent Ian some photos.

i use the OPT blue towels for almost everything except glass and drying. bums me out that they have tags but i cut them off with nail scissors and pull the end out with tweezers. works fine.

inside glass i use OPT glass towel
outside glass DI "dragon fiber" OR DD Uber, depending on what the situation is.

drying? Mother's drying towel.
