Hi!

I'm not new to detailing, but definitely not an expert! I'm starting, slowly, a detailing company here in Montreal, Canada

Now i'm looking to buy some new stock.. I made some research, and found almost everything..! But.. Microfiber towel.. So many, so different price, different quality!

What i should buy! I will need (It's what I think, you'll help me here!)
Drying towel (2)
Buffing towel (4?)
Some towel for washing (Cheap one, maybe 4)
Window towel (1, but a good one ;) )

Does I need more than that?
Which microfiber does I choose?

Thank you very much,

Drying: Cobra Waffle Weaves
Buffing: Woobies
Washing: Mircofiber Wash Mitt
Window: same as drying

Be careful buying them can be additive.

Thanks for your answer! The number i wrote seems good?

And the biggest problem with detailing.. So adctive with all the product! :P

Drying: Cobra (there are some other great waffle weave drying towels on here that I have heard of, just haven't used them)
Buffing: Rolled edge towels in blue and green (super soft)
Washing: Auto Zone microfiber mitt (looks like a green micro chenille mitt ag sells)
Window: Any cobra or other waffle weave

Also the cobra 600 jr's are really popular for waterless washes and final wipe downs. I keep about ix for those purposes.

IMO you need more for buffing and removing wax.

You're going to need a lot of towels, not just two or four. Also, maybe look into a blower instead....

Why more than two of four?

I don't plan to do a big business to start, maybe 1-2 by week, maybe a little bit more.. It's a part time job!

For drying car, i would need more than 2? One to swipe the big deal.. A another one for finishing?

Buffing, ok, i might want a bit more, but i don't understand why more drying!

LOL. Your going to make him a junkie like us. I do agree with you though.

As a basic rule of thumb, figure one MF towel per panel on the car (except for drying, there you may only need 2 or 3) for buffing and removing wax. You don't want to use 1 towel for more than that. Cleanmycorolla is right about the blower, although I don't have one it is an efficient way to dry all the knooks and cranies and you greatly lower the risk of marring the paint.

Haha! Too many microfiber, not.. Budget yes! I'm on a budget, so i won't buy for 200$ of microfiber (And i could buy alot more ;) )

If you stick around you'll learn as I did. Wash your car then let it sit unwashed for 2 weeks. Then go do a waterless wash with 3 towels. Then You might understand.

What about towels for the engine/interior/wheels etc.. Just a cheap pack from Sams Club/Costco should do.

I'd recommend 3 for drying, buffing depends on how many towels you have and the size. 4 should work if they're 24 x 36. Washing you could use mitts/pads? Windows I'd recommend 2.
