Make sure your air conditioner is in top shape & buy a gun.

If you love being stuck in traffic for hours on end, Houston is the place for you :) try moving near kingwood/humble area is my best advice

I was in Houston once years ago. Couldn't wait to leave. Hot, humid and just gross.

Sorry your not getting any positive replies.

:(

Wow... looks like a good time to be had!

Don't let anyone convince you Houston isn't a great place to live. Having lived here 30 plus years, I can tell you the economy is better than most. Houston has great restaurants, sporting venues, and nightlife. You will find the people to be honest, hard working and downright friendly.

Sure, it's hot a couple of months in the summer, yet the winter is fantastic. As for the guy who talked about bringing a gun, he obviously has never lived here or hangs out in places no one should.

This place like any other will be what you make of it. Should you move here, I think you will discover it is a great place to make a home. We'll leave the light on for you.

:iagree: don't take the comments given too seriously - I was transferred from St Louis to Houston in 1997 and I have never had to shovel snow since!

How wrong you are youngster. I have lived there and neither love nor money could make me do so again. I do agree that it is what you make of it.....true of anywhere. As far as your wise ass comment abound hanging out in places no one should......please keep such ignorant comments to yourself. And it's two months of winter, the rest is summer.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I'm moving from tampa florida to houston so I get the whole " so hot and humid you can't breathe". I just don't want to end up in a bad part of town or just looking for advice on things that people who live there know that newbies wouldn't. Thanks again!

I live and office in the woodlands (just north of Houston). It is a great place to live.

Come take a look when you visit, I think you'll like it.
