Mike,

I just purchased a 2014 class C motorhome. The fiberglass coat and paint on the cab is in really really good shape. It has a nice shine and no oxidation or swirls. My question is this. I want to keep it in great shape but I don’t want to spend hours and hours working on it. I have a flex 3401 and a variety of lake country ccs pads.

Fiberglass has different needs than paint so what combination of pad and polymer/protectant/sealer/wax would you recommend?

what do you recommend for big removal? I live in Florida and right now the love bugs are terrible and not to mention hard to remove even if done immediately.

Thanks so much,
Phillip

Real simple. Get the below two products. Use Lake Country foam polishing pads to apply and work the BF One Step and a foam finishing pad to apply the BlackIce.

BLACKFIRE One Step, BLACKFIRE Total Polish & Seal, polish and wax, cleaner wax, car polish

BLACKFIRE BlackICE Hybrid Liquid Wax

Buff out the RV first using the BLACKFIRE One Step. Then machine wax the RV using the BlackIce.

The BF One Step will perfect the gel-coat, remove any surface staining or light oxidation your eyes cannot see. It will get it to show room new clean condition. Will also remove anything anyone else has ever applied. It will get you down to bare-naked gelcoat BUT also polish it and leave it PROTECTED. So if you have to stop for a day or two or a week at least the gel-coat is protected.

Then to provide MORE PROTECTION - go over the BLACKFIRE One Step results using the BLACKFIRE BlackIce. This is a NON-CLEANING sealant. It will max-out the protection as well as gloss and shine and making keeping her clean faster and easier.

Then bite the bullet and get this car wash by the gallon and wash your RV with this - it will be like COATING the gel-coat.

When it's on SALE - GETS SOME! - Wolfgang Uber SiO2 Coating Wash

I know you said you didn't want to do a lot of work but the above is the least amount of work I can think of while doing the job right the first time. Otherwise you're wasting your time. Word.

For removing bugs besides flushing with water to soften the bug guts you can try SONAX Insect Remover - you'll need some clean, soft microfiber towles too.

SONAX Insect Remover

If you're going to travel through Love Bugs then plaster this all over the front surfaces of your RV

Don't even waste your time trying to spray it like I show in the video - it's too thick.

BLACKFIRE Bug Blocker

Pour some into a Dixie Cup and apply with a paint brush. Wash off when you reach your destination.

For washing your RV get these,

Must Have Microfiber! At least my opinion

Micro-Chenille Wash Mitt 4-Pack

For drying get these,

Drying Towels for Prep Wash
Again - along the lines of doing a PREP WASH - I like the 20" by 40" Guzzler Towels. They have a waffle weave design that keeps them from becoming contaminated since there's no loose fibers for dirt to bury into and lodge. You can wash and dry them and then use them over and over again. They are microfiber so they are soft and for a PREP WASH they work great. I can dry dang near any car with three of these towels. Here's a 3-pack

3 Pack The Supreme Guzzler Waffle Weave Towels - 20 x 40 inches

This would work great too - especially after you use the BlackIce and also wash with the Wolfgang Uber Si02 wash.

This

Enjoy the RV livesytle!

I cannot thank you enough for the thorough response. You are what makes Autogeek special. I have taken your recommendation and look forward to trying these products. It was your advice several years ago that recommended the flex and I think it’s a great machine.

take care and thanks again for all your time when writing your response.

Mike,

Another question. Why not recommend something like marine31 or meguairs marine wax? Is there a significant difference when protecting a gel coat versus an automobile clear coat?

Thanks
Phillip
