The Rag Company FTW Premium Orange Microfiber Towel

This towel is stout but still soft. It has a closed fiber loop for a nap. This type of loop slices into the film on paint, be it compound, polish or wax. It slice into it and breaks it up making it easier to remove, safer to the paint and easier on you.

And... they are not even that expensive.

I'm not sure why the Rag Company markets these as "glass" towels, even though they do work great for cleaning glass. But what they are really good at is removing compounds, polishes and cleaner/waxes.

Because they are stout, I would not use or recommend them for super soft paints - but for about 85% of the rest of the cars on the road or anytime you're working on gelcoat boats - yeah... these are nice towels.

I have not had a car in the garage with soft paint yet where I've tested these towels.

As long as you use good technique - they may be just fine - they are "microfiber".

For soft paint though - I still like the edgeless microfiber towels you see me using in a lot of my write-ups. I started using the blue version of these Rag Company towels in my roadshow classes a couple of years ago as a "compound" towel. Mostly showing others in an effort to help them. Me? I already know all this stuff.

The towel kind of fell by the wayside because to be honest - didn't seem like anyone cared besides me. Then one day, while walking through the warehouse I saw these orange towels. My favorite color is orange. They looked like the orange version of the blue towel here,

So I went back to my office and tried to find the orange version on the AG store. Couldn't find it. Sent a picture of it to one of the website guys for Autogeek and let him know the towel is not on the AG store - so he created a page of these towels and now you can find them.

All I know is - I like them. For removing compounds, polishes, AIOs and basically anything "paint" related.

I know the folks at the Rag Company promote this orange and blue towels as glass towels and they work great for glass but in my opinion - it really shines for paint work.

For what it's worth...

Thank you for the info, may have to give them a try.

I will say that on dark metallics that some looped microfiber towels can micromar depending on how soft the clear is.

What is the purple towel that the Rag Co has that is super soft? It's an edgeless towel, but it's not like the blue ones I have from them. They are so soft! I would imagine they would be great for soft paint.
