Mike's joining Max?

attempt to start an unfounded rumor!

Wow!! I am surprised! I wonder where he will end up. I wish him well. He's a great guy.

Hmm...interesting.

I also just found out that he's going to be instructing a "Show Car Garage" class here in Indy on March 24-25th. If he really resigned from Meg's, I wonder what products he'll be demonstrating with!?!?!?!

I was at a Saturday clinic at Meguiars in Irvine last Saturday and Mike broke the news to us that he was resigning this week to start his own detail business. He is opening his own shop with his business partner Richard (octaneguy) in Plascentia, CA and running showcargarage.com. He has been pretty frustrated with Barry limiting the amount of outside teaching and road shows he can do. Judging from all the new material and the Road Show sign-up that went up on showcargarage.com today, I'm guessing he dropped the bomb already at Meguiars.

this message was from another forum a member from there sent me

Ok, AG village idiot here.
Who is Mike?

mike phillips is the face of megs. he is the guy who does the classes, as well as is an expert on all megs products. he is the guy to talk to if you have a questions. he also run show car garage (they have some good videos) mike is seen as a leader, and celeberty in the detailing world

Mike P is the man. I have only met him once, but i have talked to him on the phone before, as well as countless times online. He is pretty much the master of detailing LOL. He is the one who got me so hooked on Meg's. It took me over a year to buy a bottle of OP and FPII!

As for what products he will be using, I am not sure myself, but if you take a look in the SCG estore, they are selling "Prima" car care products, so he could use those considering Richard is a distributor.

Lets face it, u could give the guy TW rubbing compound and a scotchbrite pad, and come back 2 days later with a swirl free, show car finish. :D i guess this green lights SCG.TV, and the rotary DVD :D.:awesome:

:P I will be the first to order! I am going to hit F5 until it hits the estore sells it.

Makes sense. Never felt Meguiar's were the best, they have good Education & Marketing for sure. There goes Meguiar's Online. Personally, I'd of quit if I couldn't detail freely. That shop should be a darn good investment.

links to competitors store/site removed --- sorry guys !!
