Mike Phillips starts his journey to Autogeek.net!

I'm here!

I arrived in Florida this afternoon and am getting set-up in my office here at Autogeek.net

Thanks everyone for all the kind words. I'm excited to get started in my new position here at Autogeek.

:)

Welcome to Florida Mike. Glad you made it safely.

We are very happy to have Mike in house, well rested from his vacation and ready to tackle some car care!

Don't even ask how this happened...

Pirate's Cove on the Colorado river was around 114 degrees.

Still had a ton of fun at both places.

:)

114 degrees....OUCH! Yea you definitely would not want to be in a boat very long at that temperature with the sun reflecting off the water all day long making it that much worse.

Looks like fun. :D

I guess you were not able to use your 4WD with those smaller tires being on the front.

The 454 big block weighs around 200 pounds more than the small block engine and due to the increase in weight there was a clearance problem running the 35" Boggers, that's why the smaller tires were on the front.

Since then I've lifted the frontend another 2" and now the 35" Boggers clear with no problems.

I was told by the Park Ranger that the military uses the sand from the Colorado river for training purposes as it's like powdered sugar quicksand. It doesn't pack at all but instead just flows around anything disturbing it.

:)

Glad you made it to Florida, Mike. Hope you had a great time with your son this summer.

Mike welcome to Autogeek like the rest here hope you and your son had a meaningful vacation.

Nice to have your vast knowledge here:welcome:

Glad to see you made it out there safely Mike!

Off-roading is never fun unless you get stuck and have a story to tell, and it looks like you've mastered the sport.
