Mike Phillips VIF or Vehicle Inspection Form

How can you charge someone 100 dollars an hour? Your not a shrink, or a doctor? I mean I understand that you have been doing this for a long time but detailing is not something you go to school for. You learn how to do it from word of mouth. Sounds like a total scam

I think charging someone that much is horrible. On what grounds? What's the difference between you and what a maid does? Both by special cleaning equipment, including carpet extractors and polishers.

Thats just a sample number to make the calculations easier rather than taking 25/28$ and complicating it.
And if people are ready to pay someone 100$ an hour, whats the harm in that?

Sounds crazy. I have a guy that details my car and he does an amazing job. I pay him 70 dollars.

I'm sure he's doesn't have as nearly as many polishers as the crew over at autogeek does but 100 dollars an hour sounds like a bait and switch move. Does he have a phd in cleaning cars

Like I said earlier, the 100$ thing is just a sample number, used to make the calculations easier.

Oh and it takes him 2 hours

i'm sure most on here, including myself, do not charge anywhere near that for an hour of detailing. Most of us detailers, who do this for a living, will set prices based upon our skill level, quality of work, and the average cost of detailing in our areas for the niche we are in. Whether high end vehicles or daily driven, the high end tools and products or the easy on the budget products, or our own skill level and "perfectionist" capabilities, the amount one charges can vary greatly.

If you did this for a living you would understand. I'm just curious what you get for $70 a detail. My lowest package starts at $100, paint correction is from $200-$400 yeah I don't charge $100/HR but I am $50/HR

I cant even begin to imagine what a 70$ paint correction in the US market prices looks like.

At that price range, to survive, you can never use good products. You get what you pay for.

Meg's are not good products. He used 105 and 205. He goes through less then a quarter of the bottle each on one car. Each bottle costs 15 dollars. He spends two dollars on product on the car maybe. Then he has tons of pads. I know the pads do toast forever. So lets days he charges me $.50 a pad. He goes through 5 pads on the car. He ends up maybe using 10 dollars in product an pads and towels.
