I have done the minor maintenance items on this car such as fluid changes, brake changes, etc and my good friend Mike always wanted to have me detail his car but we could never get the time necessary to get it done until just this last Sunday. We decided that it would be best for an Opti Coat application as he is very busy and dosent have the time to go out and detail his car like I do. He works night shift so when he got off work he come over for me to take care of and went inside to rest.

The car was in pretty good shape and I didnt have any issues with it. I one stepped this car with my 3401 and FG400 on a blue light cutting hybrid pad and with 6-8 passes I was finishing LSP ready. Towards the end 530inv (Jace) came over as I was doing the Opti Coat application and I showed him the process. All my after pictures are from his camera on a DSLR compared to my basic point and shoot. A good camera will be my next purchase as a point and shoot dosent do a very good job at catching your work.

Seems appropriate a German wheel cleaner for an authentic set of BBS LM's...

Thank you for the compliment. It turned out really well.

Thanks Jace. It was fun doing this car for Mike. I have always wanted to detail it and the time came.

Amazing work.

Thanks Johny.

Thanks Andrew
I really love the look of this car as well.

Believe it or not there was no polishing done. I was going 6-8 passes with FG400 and on the last two passes I was going super slow with just the weight of the machine. Menzerna is nice to work with isnt it?

Outstanding work....thanks for sharing the pics. I suspect the owner awakened with quite a smile.

Ok...I'll be the grump of the bunch. I can't stand the body kit. The gaps between those panels are inexcusable.

Great job! I would've thought you would've needed to do a 2nd step with 4000 or 4500.

And the difference when using a dslr really does show.

Paint looks weeett!

Specs on wheels?

Thank you.

Specs: 8.5x19 with 235/35R19 on front and 9.5x19 with 265/30R19 rear.

Great job! I would've thought you would've needed to do a 2nd step with 4000 or 4500.

And the difference when using a dslr really does show.

Thanks Greg. I was getting FG400 to finish out very well.

I am now in the market for a quality dslr.

Oh yes! Photography plays a HUGE roll in automotive anything

I am now learning that after seeing the pictures from 530inv.

Good dslr needed for sure.

Would iron x affect the sticker that's on my door if I spray iron x all over my door? Here's a pic of another car with the same sticker.

Or I could try iron x paste for the doors and regular iron x on the wheels.

Nevermind. I found my answer in another post. It shouldn't affect stickers or clear bras. But I won't spray it directly on the sticker. Just around it and spread with a sponge.

Amazing work, Mike!!! The E92 looks spectacular! I love the mods on that car!! Very tasteful, clean and proper!! A definite head turner for sure.

Absolutely Fantastic Mike!!

-Once again I'm in awe of what you accomplish with FG400.
Not that I'll ever be able to do the same...But I must get some.

-Excellent OC 2.0 application...
The outstanding gloss it imbues on this "white" vehicle should halt folks...
(who are incredulous and that would say otherwise)...in their tracks.

Thanks for sharing.

:)

One more question. This is base housing? Those homes look good for being on a base. I remember the base housing on hawaii and it wasnt even close to being that nice.

I keep changing my mind about how to go about polishing my car. You saw it. I dont think fg400 is necessary like the car you just did. I think power finish 2500 or final polish 3000 as a one step is all I need on the blue hybrid pad you recommended. And 4000 might be too tame.

From reading the description about 3000, I think that's what I'm looking for. "Use Menzerna Final Finish on brand new paint finishes or on vehicles in like-new condition. This is an excellent gloss-enhancing finishing polish to remove old wax, deepen the gloss, and remove minor swirls and imperfections prior to wax application."

But 2500 says "Menzerna Power Finish PO 203 is made for the OEM market as a quick way to polish out light flaws and amplify the paint’s gloss. It has the cutting ability just a step below Super Intensive. This will remove moderate to mild swirls, water spots, and light scratches. Then Menzerna Power Finish PO 203 does something amazing – it burnishes the paint to an ultra high gloss, like you’d expect from Nano Polish. For busy detailers, Menzerna Power Finish PO 203 saves time and money by doing the work of two products."

Too many tough decisions!
