Anyone got any new info on the arrival of Rupes 2 new machines?. The Mille in particular. I didn't preorder so I will be at back of line but that's ok. I don't really NEED one but my other machines need a new playmate.

From the Home/Store page:Get your Pre-Order in now! The RUPES BigFoot LK 900E Mille Gear Driven Polisher is expected to ship at the beginning to middle of February, but by ordering now, you'll be at the top of the list! Act quickly, even these pre-orders are going quickly!

We did receive information a couple days ago from Rupes...
We are getting the new products in a number of shipments over the next month. Most of the new products should be fulfilled from the pre-orders by the end of March.

We did receive a handful of the Deluxe and Standard kit ones in, we are shipping them out today.

Did anyone get their Millie yet? If so, what are your initial thoughts, and what are you comparing it to?

I’ve had mine for about four & a half months now (I’m in New Zealand) & it’s a nice tool. I wouldn’t really compare it to any other tool, I think it’s just a nice tool in its own right. :xyxthumbs:

I have been using it daily for over 6 months and more full corrections than I can count, very robust, hasn’t skipped a beat. It’s currently my most used polisher, a real workhorse.

Have you done a comparison with the 21 as far as correction capabilities?

Absolutely, if by 21 you refer to the MKII then the MKII has the edge over well, everything. The Mille beat the 3401 in correction repeatedly however. My 15 MKII and Mille are about on par on flat surfaces.

Ronin does the Millie have the same rotational speed as the 3401?

Have you used non Rupes pads and polishes with the Mille? If so, how did it perform?

Technically I don’t know as far as numbers are concerned but a fair bit faster I think. :xyxthumbs:

I tried a lake Country Flats & CCS, the CCS pads are a bit too fat so to speak & it wasn’t as smooth running them. The Flat pads were better but still not great. CarPro GlossPads & the orange polishing pads (I forget their real name) work really nice on the Mille. Menzerna, Meguiars & CarPro compounds & polishes all performed great. :xyxthumbs:

Mille OPM 7490 @ 535rpm, 7840 @ 560 rpm, Mille has 14 orbits per rotation.

3401 OPM 4800 @ 480rpm, 10 orbits per rotation.

Mille is the much faster rotating and orbiting tool.

Yes I use it that way mostly as I prefer CarPro’s compounds, pads along with a host of other brands. Works well as a system too so feel free to experiment and find something that works well for you.

How is this machine pronounced? Is it Mill? Millay? Millie? Why did Rupes do this? As if Roophez wasn’t enough? Lol.

I call it a Roops, because this is Merica.

First, AG only had the starter kit. Then, they had the deluxe kit. Both of those sold out quickly! I luckily ordered the deluxe kit as soon as I saw they were in stock. The deluxe kit is a good value, once you get used to Rupes pricing, if you know what I mean! Maybe AG customer service can give you more information about when the next shipment is expected. If your heart is really set on a Mille, I'd pre-order one. They obviously sell out fast.

I believe it's pronounced "Mill-eh". There was a video of Mike Phillips at SEMA, And that's how they pronounced it.
Even Todd Helme went back and forth between "Mill-eh" and "Meal-ay", so don't feel bad if you struggle with it!
