Mirror Finish Delorean

Amazing... would love to hear more about what exactly was done to achieve this!

The work you put in looks great, but the mirror finish looks out of place with the faded urethane nose and tail caps.

:iagree:

Need to do something with those areas...then - Wow!

But for sure it looks amazing with what you were able to accomplish.

No way, that was the Hill Valley Mall! :p

Started as Twin Pines Mall.

After Marty took out one of the trees on the farm it then had a sign reading

Lone Pine Mall :bump2:

I guess the drug deals John Z did were a solid source of cash flow, at least until he got caught.

I'm stuck on trying to remember an airline that was flying in and out of the Purdue Airport. They were trying to make payroll at the craps tables in Vegas. Can't get past the memory of that black jet that was parked there most of the time (The Bunny Jet).

On a sunny day... is that even legal? Sorry officer, but something was in my eye.

Sheesh, it looks like it got repainted. (Props)
Thanks you sir , but no that is not paint just bare stainless
THAT IS JUST AMAZING! HOW DID YOU GET THE STAINLESS LIKE THAT? IT DIDNT EVEN COME FROM THE FACTORY THAT WAY.

How many days did it take? I bet it was a bear! You lost your shirt but BOY oh BOY what a great advertising piece. If another one showed up I’d honestly tell them, how long it took and what you would charge to do another one. (and not loose your shirt) How many De loreans are going to be on that Island anyway LOLOL. I would defiantly put this in an add though.
It took around 90 man hours I had to do it in bits and pieces so I am not sure about the number of days. Yes it is an outstanding advertising piece especially when I am look to polish some rims.

seen a lot of replicas of the movie car at shows and random ones at car events but none looked that good ! looks like the chrome wrap

Wow!

You sure you didn't repaint or wrap that? ;)

Defiantly not a chrome wrap or paint.

Jake, is this your Delorean? Nice ride!
Nope a customer who wanted it done.

Wow. What did you use, two gallons of FLITZ?

The process took me the most time to figure out.

The work you put in looks great, but the mirror finish looks out of place with the faded urethane nose and tail caps. Not sure if the chrome paint from Alsa or Creations and Chrome could fix that

I agree and the owner said the eventually he wants to fab the bumpers also in stainless or just go aluminum.

come on aircrewjake, don't leave us hanging!!

How did you do this?

The process was simple start ridiculously abrasive and work gradually down to barely abrasive. then polish for days.

Nice work man!

What a difference, really good job.

All cars are reflective now a days this one is just a little over the top. And again thanks for all the kind words the customer was truly blown away.

WOW!!!! That looks so sweet! I bet you lost your shirt on that!

I guess I should have checked the DVD before I said anything, and double dumb-ass on me because it's like my favorite movie...

I thought DeLorean got caught on the first shot, so his cash flow was all negative...

OK, Captain Kirk.

At the time it was reported that he was caught the first time he tried it, but I remember seeing speculation that he had been doing it for a while.

I had one in 1981, cost $21.5K about the same price as a Merecedes back then. The car had manual steering and brakes, lousey AC and needed at least 6 lanes to make a U turn. Most people did not know how to maintain the "Stainless Steel" so very few of them looked really good. The car was a head turner though, a lot of fun to pull up in, valets always kept it right up front.

Somebody did put out a supercharger for the P.R.V engine which supposedly added a lot to the performance. I think last few were built in 83. If DeLorean the proper funding to evolve the design mechanically it could have been a winner.

Aircrewjake, seeing your incredible work makes me miss mine. I'm getting chest pains just imagining the effort it took to create that finish. :xyxthumbs: :buffing: and:buffing: and:buffing:................

I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of this vehicle a while ago. It's a beautiful ride!

STUNNING!

I'm really at a loss for the proper verbiage for this...great job!
