I put my Souveran Paste and Purple Haze in a glass container together. I put it in the oven at 200 and waited for the mixture to melt into liquid form. Then I stirred it with a wisk, hand poured it into containers, and put them in the refrigerator to set. I cautiously applied it by hand to a panel on my black Mazdaspeed3 this morning. Never in my life have I seen a look quite like it. Soft shine, very deep, warm, almost like an illusion of a black pool of ink. The curves blend together almost like magic.

You should post up some pics you mad chemist. :applause: for the orginality and good execution

this thread is worthless without pics! come on give em up.

okay, okay, okay. I'll do the whole car on Sunday and post some pix.

my wife would have killed me for baking waxes far before I got to apply it.

I couldn't do it on Sunday. We had a very bad storm in Montgomery and it's not looking much better the next few days.

wow this beats all my mixed concoctions which never include anything that costs more than $20 total.

Okay, I finally got a chance to redo the hood. It's been raining for weeks here. It was cloudy so the pix really don't do it justice. I'll post more later.

- Wash with Wolfgang and foam gun.
- Dry
- Quick polish with Wolfgang Finishing Glaze (amazing product)
- Wax
- 3 coats of Z-8

What happen to the Souveran and purple haze concoction? 3 coats of Z8 would make anything look good.

The "wax" step was the concoction. Truthfully there was not much difference after the Z-8. I'm cheap so I dilute it 2:1 with distilled water.

I would let wax cool naturally and not put it in the fridge. This is because if you put it in a ridge you cool it too fast and may cause separation.

Looks good though, I may have to get some wax mixing or making as I have access to nuba flakes.

Like I said, it was cloudy today and the pix really don't do it justice. You kind of have to see it I guess.

Thank you. I should have waited until the sun was out (a rare thing here). Even diluted 1:1 Z-8 isn't cheap. I might give Duragloss a shot and see how it compares?

Wow man that looks fantastic. I know how it is with the weather. I'm assuming Montgomery, AL right? I live in southeastern AL and it's been raining at least once everyday for the past 2-3 weeks straight..
