Mobile customers at Golf Courses

It is true what GSKR said, work can be found anywhere, the golf course is part of this anywhere. I know a couple of local detailing businesses that are permanently established at country clubs. If you can hook up with one of these clubs, it will be awesome. Chances are people have already asked to work there. But do not be discouraged if they say this.

There are 2 paths you may take when they tell you, "You are not the first person to ask this week," or "We already have a guy." A) You can say thank you for your time and leave (he closes you) or B) You can pry for more information about your competition. Through their words you may find ways to differentiate yourself. But usually when they tell you they have a guy already, they basically just shot you down and all you can do is give them everything you got. Throw at them anything you can think of! Say whatever you can! Because if you don't, when you leave, you will have wished you said this or said that. Last but not least, offer them a card and ask them to keep you in mind if anything were to happen to the other guy and ask them if it would be ok to follow up with them in a month or 2. By now, your prospect will have been talking to you for a good 5+ minutes.

Most people hear a "no" and they beat it in 2 seconds. If you do this correctly, you will then have differentiated yourself. You were not the average Joe Schmo! You did not go down without a fight. And you did it politely. And most importantly you asked for permission to follow up. And you will follow up every single month like clock work until they tell you to stop calling. The fortune is in the follow up my friend! 80% of sales don't close until after the 7th follow up. Problem is, most people stop at 1. Some try twice. Few try 3 times. But the champions will follow up until the job gets done.

Good luck!

There are 3 promblems with this.

Oops I didn't notice a 2nd page of thread. The only problem right now is if you can even work there. There's really no point in thinking up all the scenarios of disaster if you didn't even get the green light. Get the green light and figure it out then.

Like I said, someone probably already beat you to the punch, or they have policies against people working on their property (legal/insurance/liability reasons.) I certainly hope this is not the case.

So many of us get caught in analysis paralysis and never end up doing anything.

Again, best of luck Mr. Dncswann! Why don't you pop by tomorrow and give it a shot! We are rooting for ya!

By the way Dncswann. I swung by 4 golf places yesterday. At 2 of them I had a chance to meet with someone in management. I sent them a quick email last night at 3am after I got home and I got a reply from them this morning. I attached our email conversation. You'll notice I don't throw up information on this guy.

I start off with a connection I made with one of his office manager and in the same sentence I tell him what I'm emailing him for. I have only 1 pitch and it is a water conservation pitch, being that this is a golf course in California, it seemed pretty effective. And when you end an email, NEVER end with, "please give me a call if you have any questions." THEY NEVER WILL. The only purpose of this email is to get an appointment! NOTHING ELSE! I'm not selling him that I use 2 bucket method, or that I use these awesome brands. They wouldn't give a hoot. I spark their interest with a crazy claim 5-10oz of water per car! (Which by the way is not crazy because we all know waterless can achieve this.) And I tell them that I can show them how it is possible.

Like I said earlier, the only objective is to get an appointment. Always end with a call to action. (You always give them two options) Would Monday or Wednesday be best for you? In this case he replied that he would meet the week of the 14th. Guess what my reply back to him was? "14th or 15th work best for you?"

Now go talk to a couple places and get yourself an appointment!
