So for anyone who does mobile detailing above the equator. Do you guys shut down during the winter or how do you guys go about it?

No,

I get out there, suck it up, take a thermos, and get to it... $ don't stop for cold.

Amen, the only thing I don't do in the cold is paint correction. They need to have a garage for that.

I guess it depends on if this is your only income or not. I go to school, work a part time job and detail part time. So I'll survive if I have to schedule less customers in the winter. I'm actually detailing an Audi A4 Thursday and it'll be pretty cold but above freezing. I said that depending on weather, I could do a normal wash, or an ONR wash in her garage. Anyway long story short, I can still do most detailing in the winter IF I can use their garage. Which I've found out people can be really weird about. Another guy a while back mentioned that he got some wet-suit type material gloves from Bass Pro that he uses that really help keep his hands warm

I actually find polishing in the low 40's quite pleasurable. As long as I have some Sun :)

All long as customers are calling I'm detailing. Alot of dp rwg and buckets of warm water. I store all my polishes and waxes in my laundry room, helps alot. Last week was one of my best weeks.

When the Vodka freezes...That is how I gauge that it's too cold to do anything even remotely considered being mobile.
