I never thought I'd say this but I'm considering offering mobile washes in my gated community. My neighborhood currently has 2000 households and soon growing to 5000. The average income here is 90k+ and the Nextdoor app gets more traffic than most of our Facebook pages. I detail on weekends only but think I may be missing out on some easy money for just wash and vac. I have no idea what a reasonable price is to charge my neighbors for just washes. I don't have my own water yet and want to do this mostly to boost my income to buy my skid setup quicker. Plus it's a great chance to upsell some full details and score referrals. I need help with pricing, there's a ton of full service car washes starting at $20 around here but no mobile wash services that I could find, at least any with online presence. I feel $40-50 is too much for a car wash but I'm pretty poor compared to most of those living here. We're a upscale suburb of Houston way out in the country so it's a bit of a haul to drive to a car wash. Advice please!

40.00 for cars and 60.00 for trucks.I think your capped at my price point if you can get it.I only have 4 vehicles that I wash once a month. But there more than just a wash. Wash vac Windows tire dressing well wells dressed and spray wax everything.on the interior reapply leather conditioner were its needed, and finally a coat of collinite on the front and mirrors.I get 60.00 for that, takes me on a well kept Tahoe hour and fifteen minutes.

I should have mentioned that it would include windows and tire dressing. Maybe even a quick dash wipe down. I'll be using my foam cannon with wash and wax soap. I figured more wax could be a add on. This is Texas and big trucks rule the roads here, I'll most likely get a lot of them and the last thing I want to do is spend two hours cleaning a big muddy truck for a measly thirty bucks. Thanks for your input, that was helpful.

I wash used car lots and I can wash a car, dry, and wipe the wheels and wheel wells quickly in 15 minutes. I also do exterior washes on neighbors vehicles. The neighbors vehicles take me two hours. The dealer cars have been detailed and just need the pollen washed off. The neighbors cars are neglected and have not been washed in months so these vehicles need lots of work. I charge $5 a car for dealers and $35 (cars) and up to to $50 (SUV- Trucks) for exterior only washes on neighbors vehicles. The neighbors cars are more like an exterior detail (no polishing or hand waxing)

I charge $40 for sedans and $60 for SUV/trucks. My only stipulation is that the vehicle has to have been previously detailed by me with a least a claybar/wash/sealant package. So much easier to wash a vehicle that has been decontaminate and sealed. Price includes a light wipe down of interior, vac, wheels cleaned and tires shined.

Don't lock yourself into a set price until you've done the vehicle a few times. You need to average how long you spend on cleaning the vehicle each time for a few months and set it at your normal hourly rate to make sure it is a profitable service.
