So long story short I have someone's car that has been sitting for awhile, till he gets back we finally put it on insurance and registered it so we can drive it so nothing breaks or freezes up. Car though has this awful old / mildew smell in it seats are leather so I was planning on cleaning them and carpet maybe use my handheld bissel shampooer. Curious what you guys think I should do, if I should use shampooed what soap or product should I use?

Car did have a leak in it prior which got fixed, since then no leaks.

I would remove as much as you can from the interior and clean it up to the best of your ability.

I would also place a few desiccant bags inside the vehicle to help remove any lingering moisture.

Meguiar's D116 Protein Stain Remover. I have used this when you could see the mold growing. I sprayed it on and it just started atacking the mold. Mold is a protein, so this stuff just eats it up. Wait fifteen minutes spray on some water and suck it up with a shop vac. Make sure to put a fan in the car to ensure that it drys. This should take care of your problem for good.

I'll have to check those options out. This car doesn't have a cabin air filter, I would of thought a Lincoln would.
